Johns Creek is committed to enhancing the well being of its residents and visitors through comprehensive recreation and park programs, facilities, and services. The Recreation & Parks Division maintains over 400 acres of parkland and nature preserves. In addition to the city’s four main parks, the city is working to add two new pocket parks, one new neighborhood park, and two new large parks. Programming within the parks includes activities and sports for youth and people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Page 2

2020 Recreation & Parks Clubhouse Fitness The Johns Creek Recreation & Parks Division offers adult fitness classes to help you get in shape, stay energized, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. All classes are held at the Newtown Community Clubhouse located at Newtown Park and are taught by certified instructors. All fitness levels are welcome. Space is limited; please register early. Attendees must be age 16 or older at the time of the class. For a detailed schedule, class fees, and to register, please visit JohnsCreekGA.gov. Pickleball Courts Come check out one of the fastest growing sports in the nation….Pickleball! Pickleball is played on a small court and is a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Four Pickleball courts with paddles and balls are located next to the tennis courts at Newtown Park and are available on a first come-first served basis. 2020 Recreation & Parks Park Park Place at Newtown School offers a variety of fun, educational and socially engaging activities for Johns Creek residents age 62+. Place Programs include fitness classes such as yoga, Zumba and Silver Sneakers/Flex programs, which are funded by participating insurance companies to provide certified instructors who offer free fitness classes for those eligible. Free/low cost activities include lunch & learns, movies, potluck birthday celebrations, bocce, book club, bridge, canasta, supper club, knitting/crocheting, art and cooking workshops, technology support, day trips and more. Our Adaptive Recreation Programs & Events are designed to expose participants to new experiences; enhance self-esteem, self-confidence, and independence; and promote community involvement.
