BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Written by Katelyn Lantz Werner
In February, the United States celebrates
Black History Month. It is a way to remember
all the important people and events in
history. Every day, in World History class, we
read about different people and what they did
in history that was important. I am doing a
project on Josephine Baker. She was a famous
dancer and the first African American woman
to star in a major motion picture.

HEALTHY EATING
                         Written by Jessica Waight
Eating healthy food is important to
help keep you strong and healthy. If
you don't eat enough healthy foods
your tummy will hurt. You should
eat fruits, veggies, dairy, grains and
                         protein everyday. You should only
eat fast food, fries, ice cream and
                         cookies sometimes. During class, we
                         made two healthy snacks: fruit
                         salad and buffalo cauliflower.

CHICKEN BONE

In Science class, we were learning
about the skeletal system. We took
a chicken bone and put it in
vinegar. The bone started hard and
didn't bend. It took 4-5 days and
when it came out it was bendy. The
bones lost calcium. Bones need
calcium to stay stong.

Dancing the Night Away
                           BY: JIBRIL JUNEAU

The school dance took place in the East Gym of the school at 7:00 on
Saturday, February 25th. The theme of the dance was Masquerade. At the
dance they had pizza, brownies, chips, and water bottles. I had pepperoni
pizza and Doritos Nacho Cheese chips. I liked the music that they were
playing. My favorite song they played was "Gangnam Style"! The DJ had lots
of color lights with flashing colors. If I was in charge of the dance, I could
pick the theme of the dance, it would be animal themed. People could wear
animal print or animal onesies to the dance!

In Ms. Jacobs Painting 1 class, I am
painting the Atlanta skyline for the
                                     landscape project. I am painting
Atlanta because it is fun and I used to
live near Atlanta and I liked it there.
To paint it I used acrylic paint.

DRAWING 1
Written by Meryn Smith

I drew a person with streaming
rainbows coming out of her head,
she has pink and purple tentacles.
The background is green and
mossy.
I wanted to draw this because it
looked really cool and I liked the
colors in it. One technique I used
to make it was scumbling. I used
oil pastels to create it.

The Super Bowl was on February 12th,
2023, at 5:30. This year, the teams
were the Kansas City Chiefs and the
                                    Philadelphia Eagles. The game was
                                    played in Phoenix, Arizona. There
were no funny commercials at all.
The final score was Chiefs 38, Eagles

for the Kansas City Chiefs. I was super

ANT-MAN REVIEW
Written by Julien Tennyson

The name of the movie I saw was
Ant-Man and the Wasp:
Quantumania. I saw the movie at
Fox Lake Theater. I had popcorn
and a Coke slushie. Paul Rudd is
Ant-Man in the movie. I liked it
better than the first one. In the
movie the Yellow Jacket turned
into Modok!
