Reciprocal Adventures Our club has reciprocal rights with every race club in Australia that has a member’s area. Allan Chau Allan Chau, 32 years old with an average riding weight of 54kg. Every inch of Al exudes enthusiasm and ambition to ride and win! I try to ride trackwork as much as possible to help support the local trainers. SPORTING IDOL? Don’t really have one. But I do have a goal that I have set myself for the year and that is primarily to beat Plummy (Ryan Plumb) and Dan Griffin in the premiership. Alex Patis Alex Patis is the epiphany of small but mighty. Standing at a mere 5ft 2, 20-year-old Alex has been a force to be reckoned with travelling from Gold Coast to Toowoomba, Ballina and Gatton. Her trainer and mentor Helen Page has seen her strike rate improve from 8% to a staggering 16% in her recent rides. Primarily based at the Gold Coast. STARTED RIDING? WHAT IS YOUR TYPICAL WORK WEEK? Leah Kilner It is probably easier to summarise Leah as the quietly confident achiever. Always smiling, she is like an assassin on the race track, securing an 18% strike rate from her last 50 rides. Sitting comfortably at 54kg, 21 year old Leah has a bright future ahead of her in the racing industry as she nears the end of her apprenticeship. A Grafton based jockey, she frequents the Gold Coast every Saturday for mainly Les Kelly and his successful team of horses as well as putting in the extra effort to make it for trackwork some mornings too. 2020 Aquis Park Jewel Raceday In March 2018 we held the inaugural running of the QTIS race day which exploded in 2019 to the QTIS $1.5 Million Race Day.
