Community Gardens COMMUNITY GARDENS - AT A GLANCE Plant some seeds! Watch them grow! The Community Gardens at Prairie Green are located at the intersection of Peck Road and Bricher Road. The space features 124 garden plots, with 12 plots designed for organic growers. Garden plots are open from dawn until dusk between April and October. Plots are available on a first come/first served basis. Each plot is 20 ft. x 30 ft. Gardeners are responsible for the maintenance of their garden plot. Gardens will be checked periodically for maintenance. If a garden appears to need attention, gardeners will be notified by email and phone. The Community Gardens at Prairie Green are a cooperative partnership between the Geneva Park District, City of Geneva, and Forest Preserve District of Kane County. Benefits of Community Gardens • Community Gardens offer an opportunity to grow your own produce while getting to know other gardeners. • Exposure to green space reduces stress and increases a sense of wellness • Community Gardens restore oxygen to the air and help to reduce air pollution FREE! Peck Farm Park Peck Farm Park is a unique park that offers visitors a place to slow down and enjoy quality time surrounded by nature. It features a 365 acre restored prairie with trails for walking, hiking, and biking. Visitors can also enjoy the sensory garden, observation silo , outdoor amphitheater, seasonal Butterfly House, History Gallery, Nature Discovery Room, gift shop, and Hawks Hollow Nature Playground. In addition, Peck Farm Park offers a variety of environmental programming and birthday parties year-round. Kids will have a blast with a variety of hands-on activities as they celebrate their birthday at Peck Farm Park, some options are available year-round! For more information on nature birthday parties, turn to page 81. Peck Farm Park is also a fantastic venue for outdoor weddings and other events.
