From the Director, Kari Gorr Summer is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. The air holds a vibrancy that winter seems to lack; the sky appears bluer and the future feels more promising. Hastings Community Education is proud to offer classes that will help you to make the most out of your spring and summer. We have a variety of new offerings that will both encourage innovation and provide new exploration. Some exciting new offerings include: • How to Fish Twin Cities Lakes – Presentation, door prizes and handouts provided by author of several fishing books, Sybil Smith. (pg. 12) • Bees, Wasps, and Pollination – Discover the different species of honeybees and native bees, as well as bees and wasps. Pollination, pesticides and an observation hive may even be on display to discuss. (pg. 15) • Ultimate Hovercrafts - Air Blast Engineering – Your 2nd through 5th grader will explore the power of air like never before! Fitness, Health & Wellness “Free Try-It Sessions are for those who’ve never tried a particular fitness course to help them determine if it would be a good fit. Should a try-it session fill, we will cross-check for past enrollment in the class to make room for those new to the course. Gentle Yoga by Candlelight Ages 15+ Julie Pfeiffer A dynamic Vinyasa Yoga class designed especially for the beginner done by illuminated by Candlelight. Vinyasa connects the movement with the breath to create a continuous flow of postures. The breath guides you through this class comprised of creative sequences intended to provide you with strength, flexibility and peace for the mind, body and spirit. Yoga poses can be modified for those desiring more or less. Please bring yoga mat and water.
