John Hurley, OSFS, team mentor Doug Son- cini ’96 and moderator Jeff Hylan ’95, our Model United Nations (MUN) team has had great success over the last 25 years. But after more than two decades, our team’s future became uncertain after the August 2016 passing of our longtime advisor Father Hurley. Direction and commitment pre- vailed in the form of a strong leadership group - Connor McQuillin ’17, Jim Zaccario ’17, Matt Leahy ’17 and Ryan Elitz ’17 - who successfully guided us through another season. This achievement is a true testament to Father Hurley’s legacy at Father Judge. With the memory of Fr. Hurley surely in mind, our MUN won a First Place team trophy (for the 14th year in a row) at the 25th Annual Model United Nations Conference hosted by De Sales University in March. We also earned multiple honorable mention awards, outstanding awards and First Place gavels at Georgetown University, Temple University, LaSalle College High School, Methacton High School, Salesianum High School and various other competitions throughout the 2016-2017 school year. Finally, we hosted and won the 54th Annual Oblate Model United Nations on April 8, 2017.
