Explanation of Services and Pricing
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
Basic Professional Fees $1,199
• Professional consultation with licenced personnel, including, but not limited to, expert advice on options
to meet your needs.
Professional Funeral Director’s Services $1,199
• These services include the personal coordination and supervision by the licenced
funeral director of all the arrangements on behalf of the family, including coordination of all activities, rites
and ceremonies, before, during and after they have been provided.
Visitation Staff (requires Visitation Facilities) $149
• Staff to coordinate and oversee the visitation at our premises for a period from 30 minutes up to 4
hours.
Ceremony or Celebration of Life Support Staff* $299
• Staff to coordinate and oversee the ceremony or memorial service at our premises.
*If the ceremony or memorial takes place at an off-site location, an additional charge of $299 for Funeral
Support Staff will apply and Facilities for Ceremony will not be charged.
Direct Disposition Services (witnessing or family viewing) $499
• Direct Disposition Services includes cremation witnessing (only) at the crematorium or a
private family viewing for a period of up to 1 hour at the funeral home prior to cremation or
interment. This fee is in addition to the Minimum Service Plan.
Standard Embalming (requires Preparation Facilities) $499
• Embalming is the process of sanitation, restoration and temporary preservation. Embalming is not
legally required, but may be recommended to preserve the body between the time of death and the
visitation or disposition of the deceased. Our professional funeral directors will make a recommendation
based on the condition of the body and expected service needs.
Basic Care (requires Preparation Facilities) $499
• The preparation of the body for placement into the casket, including bathing, dressing, use of a vinyl
enclosure and the setting of facial features for identification for up to 15 minutes without embalming. This
charge applies to every recipient transferred into our care.
*Standard Documentation $399
• Completion and filing of all documents necessary to carry out the services and supplies requested,
including, but not limited to, death registration, burial permit, coroner’s certificate for cremation. As part
of this service, we will provide you with 6 Proof of Death Certificates. Such certificates are usually
accepted for most estate settlement purpose, but sometimes a Provincial Death Certificate will be
necessary and is available from the Office of the Registrar General via Service Ontario website
• This amount does not include the municipal death registration fee or the coroner’s fee.

FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT
Basic Use of Facilities $499
• Use of our general and common areas, including parking lot, public washrooms, heating, lighting and
maintenance.
Facilities for Visitation and Setup (requires Visitation Staff) $149
• Designated facilities used for visitation from 30 minutes up to 4 hours.
Facilities for Ceremony or Celebration of Life (requires Funeral Support Staff) $299
• Designated facilities at our Funeral Home used for the ceremony, celebration of life
or memorial service.
Preparation or Basic Care Facilities (requires Standard Embalming or Basic Care) $499
Facilities used to prepare, embalm and/or shelter the body; this charge applies whenever the body is in
our facility for any purpose. Includes up to two days of shelter beyond the initial day of arrival at our
facility.
TRANSPORTATION NEEDS
Transfer of Recipient $399
• Transportation of the remains from one place to another, for example from the hospital to our premises
or from our premises to the crematorium using a transfer vehicle, for distances not exceeding 25 km
*2-person transfer (if transfer is required from coroner’s building, nursing home or residence and a $549
2-person transfer is required)
General Administrative Vehicle $99
• A general purpose vehicle for the accomplishment of various funeral related tasks and
duties for distances not exceeding 25 km
Funeral Coach $299
• A specialized vehicle to transport the casket from the funeral home to the cemetery, for
transportation to church or another location for a funeral ceremony for distances not exceeding
25 km
Transfer of Recipient to Crematorium $299
Additional distance travelled beyond 25 km from our facility will be charged at
$2.79 per kilometre one way only. All vehicles are for a time period of 3 hours,
after which overtime hours will apply.

TRANSPORTATION NEEDS
Service Vehicle $99
• The use of this vehicle to transport equipment to an off-site location. May be used to transport flowers
to the cemetery and up to two other specified locations for distances not exceeding 25 km.
Lead/Clergy Car $99
• The use of this vehicle to transport the clergy/celebrant and up to two pallbearers from the funeral
home to cemetery or crematorium, for transportation to church or another location for a funeral ceremony
for distances not exceeding 25 km.
Pallbearer Car (subject to availability) $99
• The use of this vehicle to transport up to four pallbearers from the funeral home to Cemetery or
crematorium, for transportation to church or another location for a funeral ceremony for distances not
exceeding 25 km.
Family Car (subject to availability) $99
• The use of this vehicle to transport up to four family members from the funeral home to cemetery or
crematorium, for transportation to church or another location for a funeral ceremony for distances not
exceeding 25 km.
Family Limousine or Pallbearer Limousine (subject to availability) $149
• The use of this vehicle to transport up to seven family members from the funeral home to cemetery or
crematorium, for transportation to church or another location for a funeral ceremony for distances not
exceeding 25 km.

*Estate Portfolio. In addition to standard documentation, we will provide you with unlimited Proof of Death $299
Certificates. We will complete and file the Canadian government Notification of Death, the Canada Pension
Plan Death Benefit and the Survivor’s Benefit Applications and will cancel the Ontario Health Card. A Care
Guide is provided to assist the executor in settling estate matters *Does not include municipal death
registration fee or coroner’s fee.
Standard Stationery Package. Includes your choice of a Standard registration booklet, Standard Memorial $299
cards or Prayer cards (up to 150), Thank you cards (up to 100), Metal Crucifix or Plain Cross
Internet/Memorial Archive. Death notice and service information is maintained and available on our $199
website and archives at www.duffusfuneralhome.com for family, friends and associates to sign our online
guest book and leave condolences for the family.
*Visitation, Ceremony, Celebration of Life Services, Reception or Graveside Ceremony on a $499
Weekend. Includes the services of a funeral director and staff members to assist in the direction of a
Visitation, Ceremony, Celebration of Life, Reception or Graveside Ceremony on a Saturday or Sunday to
accommodate family requested preference of arrangements.
*Statutory Holiday $699
Gathering Time Reception Facilities. Use of second floor facilities for a family gathering and amenities $149
such as washrooms during and in between visitation periods for each day. You may provide your own food.
Coffee, tea, cream, sugar and bottled water are included. Alcohol is not permitted on the premises.
*Additional Shelter of deceased. Deferral of visitation and/or ceremony beyond three days to $79
accommodate family requested preference of arrangements. *Each additional day of shelter
Extended visitation facilities and staff services. Use of our entire main floor for a one day visitation to $399

OTHER AVAILABLE SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT
Custom Printing Services. This includes the setup and printing of a brochure style folder. Includes up to $299
100 brochure style folders. Each additional brochure $1 each beyond included amount.
Blank Memorial Card This includes the setup and printing of a blank memorial card, up to four sides of $49
printing. Includes printing for 100 memorial cards. Each additional card $0.49 each.
*Photo Tribute DVD or USB. Includes scanning up to 50 photos and providing a DVD or USB for the $399
visitation, ceremony or celebration of life. Additional photo scanning $0.99 each, Additional DVD or USB $10
each.
*Photo Tribute USB. Download and/or preparation of up to 50 photos for electronic display for the
visitation, ceremony or celebration of life $199
*Photos must be received at the funeral home at least 48 hours prior to the DVD or USB being played on our
system.
Staff Services for a Graveside Ceremony. Includes the services of a funeral director to assist in the $499
direction of a graveside ceremony (and one additional staff member as required) for a Contemporary Service
Plan or Graveside Ceremony, when the graveside ceremony is held on a day other than the initial day with a
funeral coach or transfer vehicle.
*Delayed Final Disposition Service. Ceremony or Celebration of Life followed by a reception delaying the $499
final disposition of a Casket or an Urn until a later time on the same day to accommodate family requested
preference of arrangements. This includes the services of a funeral director with funeral coach or transfer
vehicle, and one additional staff member (and one additional vehicle if required) that will meet the family and
friends at the graveside at a designated time after the reception. * Should the family request a procession with
the funeral coach or transfer vehicle and any other vehicle after the reception, there will be an additional
charge of $99 per vehicle
Shipping Administration. (within Canada and United States) Includes our staff and communication services
to assist with arrangements to have the recipient either forwarded to or returned to our funeral home within $349
Canada and the USA.
*Outside North America $649
Priority Casket Retrieval. Retrieval of a casket from the manufacturer to accommodate family requested $149
preference of arrangements for a visitation or ceremony.
Professional restorative procedures. In some circumstances, additional restorative efforts beyond those $99
captured in the standard embalming procedure are necessary to enhance the appearance of the deceased. In
such cases, the funeral director will discuss the available options and their cost. Professional restorative
procedures will be charged per hour or part thereof.
Delayed Interment or Entombment Storage. Climate controlled facilities for storage of the deceased in a $299
casket prior to a delayed or spring interment or at the request of the family.
*Arrangements Administration. (if a Minimum Service Plan is selected). Includes the services of a funeral $499
director and assistants in making contact with various persons or organizations to assist the family with a
ceremony, memorial service, celebration of life or graveside service. It may include contact with church,
clergy, musicians, soloists, cemetery, hall rental contacts and/or caterers. It may include assistance with the
placement of a death notice or obituary but does not include the cost of any death notice or obituary insertion
itself. It may include providing pertinent information and documentation to any or all of the above. *This does
not include any fee charged by any of the above third party individuals
Death Notice or Obituary Assistance includes assistance with up to two different newspapers. Each $99
additional newspaper $39 each

OTHER AVAILABLE SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT
CREMATION SERVICES
*Family Identification. (outside normal business hours) Additional charge after 4 p.m. and no later than 6 $149
p.m. for a family identification to accommodate family requested preference of arrangements (subject to
availability).
*Saturday, Sunday or Holiday $249
Priority Cremation Scheduling. Priority scheduling of the cremation on a specific day and time after the $199
ceremony has been held or within three days from the date of arrival of the recipient at the funeral home
prior to the ceremony being held to accommodate family requested preference of arrangements.
Removal of Pacemaker or Implant. The removal of a pacemaker or implant will be carried out by a $79
licenced professional.
Cremated Remains Administration Fee. This fee is for the retrieval of the cremated remains from the $199
crematorium to accommodate family requested preference of arrangements for a visitation, ceremony or
celebration of life or to be returned the Purchaser at the convenience and request of the family.
*Transfer of Cremated Remains. The transfer of cremated remains to a full size urn or keepsake urn $49
provided by the family. *This also applies to the division of cremated remains into up to five containers as
requested by the family. * Each additional container is $9 each
*Urn Ark Rental. (subject to availability) The use of the Urn Ark for visitation, ceremony or celebration of $199
life for up to a two day period.
Refundable Deposit for Cremated Remains. When human remains are to be cremated, a refundable $149
deposit will be required to be paid. If the cremated remains are not claimed within one year of the cremation,
the deposit may be used to inter the cremated remains in common ground. If the cremated remains are
claimed before they are interred, the deposit will be refunded.

CATERING SERVICES
*Reception Facilities. Use of facilities for a reception following the ceremony or memorial service, which $349
includes the setup of the facilities, the use of the facilities and amenities such as washrooms and parking for
up to 2 hours, suitable for 50 to 100 people. *Requires a Hostess for reception

DISBURSEMENTS
Disbursements are items arranged for and possibly paid for on your behalf by us. You are expected to pay for
these items at the time the contract is entered into. The following are some items that are often identified as
disbursements.
Each cash disbursement item is the exact cost that is paid to the third party supplier on behalf of
the purchaser.
Municipal death registration fee – this is a fee charged by the local municipality to register the death. The fee is
set by the municipality and may vary.
Coroner’s fee – this is a fee charged by the coroner for issuing a certificate that allows cremation to take place.
The fee is set by the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
Clergy honorarium – this is an amount paid to the clergy for their services. In some cases the amount is set by
the clergy, in others it is an amount to be determined by you.
Newspaper notices – these are charges for death notices placed in newspapers or other media outlets.
Church honorarium – this is an amount paid to the church for the use of their building for a visitation and/or
service.
Church sound technician – this is an amount paid to the sound technician at the church for their services. In
some cases, the amount is set by the church, in others it is an amount to be determined by you.
Church custodian – this is an amount paid to the custodian at the church for their services. In some cases, the
amount is set by the church, in others it is an amount to be determined by you.
Organist/Musician honorarium – this is an amount paid to the organist for their services. In some cases, the
amount is set by the organist or musician, in others it is an amount to be determined by you.
Soloist honorarium – this is an amount paid to the soloist for their services. In some cases, the amount is set by
the soloist, in others it is an amount to be determined by you.
Bagpiper honorarium – this is amount paid to the bagpiper for their services. In some cases, the amount is set
by the bagpiper, in others it is an amount to be determined by you.
Hall rental fee – this is an amount paid to the hall for the rental of the space for the reception.
Luncheon fee – this is an amount paid to the caterer for the provision of food items and hostess service provided
at the reception.
If required and as is necessary the Provider will act as an agent on behalf of the purchaser in the
case of cemetery fees or crematory fees:
Cemetery Fees – this is an amount paid to the cemetery for their services is opening and closing the grave for
the purposes of interment or the opening and closing of the crypt for entombment of a casket, the interment or
inurnment of an urn, or any other required service or supply requested by the purchaser(s).
Crematory Fees – this is an amount paid to the crematory for their services in the cremation of the deceased in
the casket selected by the purchaser(s).

PAYMENT AND FUNDING
We are offer a variety of payment and funding options to our clients.
Funeral Service Contract and Cash Disbursements Contract (At Need Arrangements)
Unless otherwise specified, a deposit of 50% of the Funeral Service Contract and the full amount
of Cash Disbursements are due at the signing of the contracts and the balance owing is due within
15 days thereafter. Payment may be made by cash, cheque, bank draft, certified cheque or e-
transfer. Beyond the allotted time, interest will be charged at a rate of 2% per month or 24% per
annum – simple interest. N.S.F. CHEQUE: In the event that the Purchaser’s cheque is returned by
the Purchaser’s Financial Institution marked N.S.F., the Purchaser is required to pay an additional
$40.00 for each cheque so returned.
Pre-Paid Contracts – Trust or Insurance Funding (Pre-Paid Arrangements)
For your convenience, we offer two funding options when prepaying services or supplies. When
prepaying, you pay for the services and supplies today and the money will be used to pay for the
services and supplies when they are delivered at the time of death.
Trust: You may pay the money directly to us and we will place it in trust, where it will accrue
interest until the contract is fulfilled (when the services and supplies are delivered) or the contract
is cancelled.
Insurance: You may purchase an insurance contract where the proceeds of the insurance
contract will be used to pay for the services or supplies at the time they are delivered or the
contract is cancelled.
