Since the creation of the first Cité des métiers in 1993 at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Porte de la Villette, more than thirty multi-partnership platforms (operating or in project) dedicated to guidance and information on professions and professional life have been set up through the label “Cité des métiers”. Beyond the principles of free of charge and anonymity, these integrated and resources spaces towards public are in particular characterized by: - A multi-stakeholder approach that allows experience sharing and the development of new innovative solutions; - the decompartmentalised approach of counselling, - a territorial grid built on strong relationships with public and private partners. The CDM work as a local single door for reception, information and career counselling. In France, for example, they are recognised as local stakeholder of animation of the Regional Public Service of Orientation (SPRO). Changes in the profession of career counselling Counsellors working in Cités des métiers have been invited to offer for the last years an individual service in order to support more efficiency people with special needs, in particular young people and people up to 45 years old. The growing importance of digital environment in the society and in the labour market will require changes in the profession of counselling in career development. Counsellors will have to adapt indeed their learning methods and tools. As an extension of the project for « mutual improvement of the performance of integrated spaces » (AMPLI) launched in 2009, the Network decided to engage since 2014 a skilling-up process of professionals working in CDM, in particular in the profession of career counselling. COCADE is a new step for the improvement of skills and capacities of counsellors and practitioners of career counselling working in integrated spaces, and how to build partnership in these spaces. OBJECTIVES Global objective The objective of this project is to develop at national and European level the offer and the quality of career counselling services in integrated spaces. PRESENTATION OF TRAINING AND LEARNING ACTIONS ORGANISATION The project is managed by the Cités des métiers International Network. A Project Committee (CoPro) composed of professionals in career counselling and partnership management will be set up. It will be responsible for the smooth implementation of the project and will ensure the achievement of management objectives previously indicated are met. Project partners will also able to contact external experts, including associate partners, as needed to strengthen the exchange of practices and improve expected results. METHODOLOGY The methodological approach is based on bottom-up, participatory and networking processes. The principles are: - participation of each partners (decision process, choice of methods, etc.), - interaction and plurality of viewpoints, - non-formal, informal and less formal education, - equity, - promotion of innovation concerning animation techniques, - transferability of skills. The project is focused on the acquisition and high level of key competencies for learners. The dimension of social inclusion is part of the pedagogical content and the selection principles of participants to training and mutual learning activities. Particular attention will be paid to approaches adopted with specific audiences.
