PRESIDENT’S NOTE Have you noticed your check-out receipt from the library recently? Many times, people aren’t sure if they are receiving the value of their taxes for what they use at the library. We decided to turn on the part of the library’s check-out system that gives you the dollar value of what you have saved over the past year. I had my receipt posted here to give you an idea of what your receipt looks like if you haven’t noticed this new feature. Yes, I do read many books and watch a lot of videos. Books and videos are expensive items if you purchase them. Your library is still the best entertainment bargain there is. If we don’t have an item, then it may be borrowed from another library, or we may purchase it for our library. But we can save you money, if you are willing to wait. Have you checked out our internet hotspots? They may be borrowed for a week at a time, like our other Extraordinary Things. Need baking pans? Card table and chairs? Telescope? Or even a croquet set? We are not your grandfather’s library of only books. How much have you saved this year at the library? Check your receipts and let me know. My email is cmccreary@pclib.org.
