PARTNERS’ CONNECT| Ping Yi Secondary School Piloting a New Decade JANUARY 2020 Dear Parents and Partners, May the new year bring new insights and opportunities! On behalf of the Ping Yi family, I wish to extend a warm welcome to our new Sec One students and parents/guardians. The Partners Connect is one way through which we update parents/guardians and other partners about key school developments. On the first day of school, Minister for Education Mr Ong Ye Kung visited Ping Yi to gain insights regarding the implementation of Full Subject-Based Banding (SBB). Ping Yi is piloting new Sec 1 form classes with students from different streams studying under one roof starting from this year. In addition, students are now able to study Humanities subjects at a more demanding level. The Minister observed a Sec 1 class participating in a Circle Time lesson and talked to selected lower secondary students who are studying SBB subjects.
