WOODBRIDGE TOWN V BIGGLESWADE UNITED TUESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER 2020 | KICK OFF : 19:45 Good evening and welcome to the Homestyle UK Stadium at Notcutts Park for tonight’s Emirates F.A. Cup extra preliminary round tie, to which we extend a very warm welcome to the players, officials and supporters of our visitors Biggleswade United and to tonight’s match officials, the referee Oliver Morris-Sanders and assistant referees Wayne Middlemas and Paul Staddon. We also tonight’s Match Sponsor Kedan Logistics Ltd. and we thank them for their continued support for Woodbridge Town F.C. A lot has changed since we closed our doors back in March, not least that you are reading this programme on your phone, tablet or laptop, instead of the usual copy available at the turnstile. We understand that supporters will have mixed feelings about this, including myself who has a bookshelf full of every single Woodbridge Town F.C. programme since we first produced them 36 years ago back in 1984. There are pros and cons in making the programme an online publication, most important of all, a small step towards reducing the risk of Covid-19 transmission by eliminating the paper copy and the cash transaction involved in the purchase. Like wise there will also be no prize draw either at the turnstile. Whilst we understand that a few of our supporters may not have the means, or the inclination, to access the internet to obtain the programme, It is now available free of charge, and not just to those who previously purchased on matchdays, but now available to many thousands of our twitter, FaceBook and website followers across the UK and beyond. Which is great news for our programme advertisers whose support has made the programme possible in past years, and can now benefit from interactive advertisements, with direct links to their services and websites. ...Continued on page 5
….Continued from page 3 We are not ruling out a return to paper programmes in the future, but for now , however small, the steps we can take to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission at WTFC and beyond is intended for the benefit of all. Many of you will have bought tickets in advance for tonight’s match online. This is a also a first for WTFC, but another small step towards reducing queues and social distancing issues at the turnstile. We would encourage our regular supporters to consider in future purchasing tickets in advance from the club website, or purchasing a season ticket to allow quick, cash free and discounted entry to all Thurlow Nunn League matches. If you haven't visited us yet this season, there are many changes within the ground to comply with FA guidance on Covid-19, including significantly reduced capacity in the seating area and also the covered standing area. Spectators standing around the pitch perimeter rail are asked to stand at least one metre apart. The rail has been marked with tape to assist with this. Unfortunately, it was not possible to fixture this match on our usual match night of Wednesdays, so with our clubhouse privately booked on Tuesday evenings there will be no access to the clubhouse until after the match. The only access to the clubhouse will be for use of the ladies toilets via the players entrance. We apologise for the inconvenience, but food, and refreshments will be available throughout the match from the BBQ tent. The Clubhouse and Bar will open as usual at full time. We kindly ask that you politely follow any instructions given by our match stewards. Enjoy the match and above all keep yourself and others safe. Richard, Facilities Manager and Covid-19 Officer, WTFC
