ANNUAL NEWSLETTER SPRING/SUMMER 2022
Team Assignments Coming:
Coaches will have their teams for ages 7-14 by this Friday.
Coach will contact you. If you do not receive a call or email by Sunday evening, please email your
players name and age to nocall@prbaseball.com
5 & 6 year olds will be out by 4/22 and 15 & up by 5/15
Field Improvements:
Last fall with the help of the Park District we improved 3 fields. Brickton, Lincoln 5A and Southwest #8.
This cost was over $15,000 to complete.
This now brings us to 12 fields that have magic mix on originally dirt infields.
We have added magic mix to these infields to help with playability and cut down on dust.
In addition, the Park District has contracted to have new LED lights put up at all three Hinkley Fields.
Finally, we have ordered new dugout covers for most of our fields in the system. Last year we
installed them at the 3 Hinkley Fields and they proved to be successful.
We have had to contract work to a fence company to modify each dugout so we can install the covers
in the spring. Supply chain issues have slowed our progress, but we feel confident they should be
ready by opening day.
These dugout covers along with some safety improvements to several backstops will amount to over
$25,000 to complete. Our Partnership with the Chicago White Sox has afforded us the ability to
improve our fields (including some new bleachers and a renovation of Kalina Field) over the last 7
years.
Oakton Batting Cages:
The Oakton Batting Cages will again be free to all our players ages 7 & up. They are slated to open
5/1. More info will be sent out as the date draws closer.

We are proud to inform you of our Pitching/Throwing Clinic on Sunday,
April 24th:
• The Chicago White Sox Academy along with Softball instructors will
be conducting pitching/throwing clinics for boys and girls ages 8-12
on Sunday April 24th. Sessions will be age specific and will be on -
line to register. (Cost $15 per player).
• More information will be sent to those specific age groups in the near
future concerning when to register and location.
CALLING ALL UMPIRES!!
This is a great way to get started working your spring or fall job.
You must be at least 13 years old and know the game and rules of
baseball/softball.

experience many of our members are looking for. We hope you
