Playa Vista Elementary m OSPREY NEWS ! mlmm OUR MISSION IS HIGH ACHIEVEMENT FOR THE WHOLE CHILD THROUGH STEM Monday, May 27th Memorial Day Observed No School Dear PVES Family, Tuesday, May 28th From the So Fly Dance showcase to the Talent Show to the Annual ORF Kindergarten Class Volunteer Breakfast this past week reminded us all that a complete education Showcase must include the arts and that parents are a vital part of our school Parent Portal Workshop 5:30 - PVES Library community! We have much to be grateful for at PVES. Wednesday, May 29th Thank you to So Fly Dance for doing a great job with our youngest FPVS Annual Meeting students. Thank you to Mrs. Martinez and Ms. Baird for organizing the 8:20 PVES Library Volunteer Breakfast. Thank you to all the parents who came to help us Thursday, May 30th celebrate and enjoy a meal together. Thank you to ORF Performance all of our volunteers who give countless hours of 1st grade 8:20 MPR their time throughout the school year. And finally, thank you to every student who showed such School Dance 3rd - 5th grade students courage and shared their talent with us at the talent 3:00 - 5:00 MPR show. Thank you to Jen Goldberg and her band of volunteers who put the show together! Parent Portal Workshop - 5:30 - PVES Library Earlier this week the Annual Budget Survey was sent out via email. Your participation in the survey is vital in finalizing the 2019-2020 school year’s Friday, May 31st 5th grade goes to the FPVS budget and in guiding decisions that will be made for the 2020-2021 IMAX school year as well. This is your opportunity to have your voice heard and will Upcoming Events only take about 10 minutes of your time. Your feedback is important, thank 6/3 Kindergarten you. Donuts with Dad The results of the survey and the FPVS final budget are shared at the FPVS 6/4 Upper Grade Chorus Performance annual meeting. The annual meeting is set to take place this Wednesday, May 6/5 Student 29th, in the PVES library. New members of the FPVS board will be introduced Recognition and a heartfelt thank you said to those who are stepping down. Every parent Assembly TK, K, & 1st grade at Playa Vista Elementary is a member of the Friends of Playa Vista School. All 6/6 Student members are welcome to attend! Recognition Now I need you to think back to the beginning of this school year. In Assembly 2nd, 3rd, September/October of 2018, LAUSD sent out letters to every family about the & 4th grade 6/7 Fifth grade Parent Portal. That letter contained the Personal Identification Number or PIN Promotion Ceremony !
Playa Vista Elementary m mlmm needed to add your child/children onto your Parent Portal account. If you still have that letter, you only need to come to a Parent Portal workshop if you want assistance in adding or opening an account. If you are unable to locate the letter, you will still need to drop by to It’s Math Time! receive your PIN. Thank you to the parents who were able to attended the two workshops this past week. Finally, I’d like to share some exciting news about one of our teachers. Ms. Overlock, one of our kindergarten teachers, has earned her master’s degree from the University of San Diego. Her focus was on Integrating the Arts into STEM at the elementary level. Congratulations to Ms. Overlock, a valuable member of our teaching team!
