WORKING HUNTER A Working Hunter should be of good conformation and soundness. A hunter should be able to carry its rider over a variety of terrain, they should exhibit boldness and be tractable with a free moving and balanced gait. They should work calmly and obediently without displaying over exuberance but still be happy and eager in their work. RING 1 (Jumping Phase) - Judge: RING 2 (Flat Work Phase) - Judge: RING 3 (In Hand Presentation) - Judge: CONDITIONS OF ENTRY A Horse/Pony may only compete in 2 consecutive height rounds. NO Horse/Pony Rider combination may compete in both sections. Each rider Horse Combination must compete in one section only. Classes are restricted to the first 25 entries received per class. A reserve list will be held and in the event of one class having less than 25 entries we may accept horses from the reserve list into other classes (Entries not accepted due to full classes will be fully refunded). Stallions are welcome BUT must be well behaved and ridden by competent rider 14 and over. The Jumping Phase will be ridden first, only those successful in the Jumping Phase will proceed to the Flat workout. Any pony/horse eliminated or disqualified during the Jumping Section will not be required for Flatwork or In-Hand sections. CANCELLATION OF EVENT If a severe weather event or other catastrophic warning is made this event may be cancelled or postponed. Contact Sue-Ellen Kiesling 0402 049 624 or check the Australian Pony Stud Book WA Branch FB Page for an update on the event. REFUND POLICY If an event has commenced there will be no refunds. If an event is cancelled prior to the commencement of the event – costs incurred by the show committee prior to the show will be paid and remaining funds will be reimbursed to the member if the amount per exhibitor is $2 or more. If an event is postponed entry fees will not be refunded without a written request from the exhibitor within 7 days of the notification of postponement. Withdrawal of entries may only be refunded at committee discretion on presentation of doctor or vet certificate. Admin fee may be charged. Page 2 of 7

ENTRY FEES CATEGORY COST APSB MEMBER ENTRY FEES $30.00 per class ALL OTHER ENTRY FEES $40.00 per class GROUND FEE $12.00 per exhibit INCLUDES USE OF A STABLE BUNKROOM $66.00 per night FOR UP TO 4 PEOPLE REFUNDABLE CLEANING FEE $20.00 per stable/parking area CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. Ponies/Horses DO NOT need to be registered with any society. 2. Riders DO NOT need to be members of any society. 3. All Ponies/Horses must be a minimum of 4 yrs of age to enter, Ponies/Horses that are 3 yrs of age may only compete in the two lowest Encouragement classes. 4. All Riders/Handlers MUST have a signed disclaimer attached to their entry. 5. APSB Members must be FINANCIAL to receive member’s rate and qualify for the Hi Point Award. 6. A refundable cleaning fee of $20 per entry is required for all vehicles parked on the ground. If stables are required the refundable cleaning fee of $20.00 is per stable. These will be returned on inspection of your parking area or stables used. All Stables are locked and will be monitored. Cleaning Fees must be paid with entries and will be refunded within 14 days of event completion. 7. All classes are run under the rules as outlined below of the APSB Society WA Changes of Saddlery between sections is not allowed Snaffle bridle only. Drop nose band may be used Dummy Spurs are optional but must have the points facing down NO other spurs are allowed. Competitors may carry crops to a maximum length of 75cms Bandages/boots and running/standing martingales to be removed before flat work phase. No bearing reins, side or running reins of any kind are permitted. Any fall of rider and or horse is instant elimination from the current height being attempted and the rider must leave the arena unmounted. Any further rounds can only be attempted if clearance from the onsite first aid officer is given to compete. Plaiting is optional. Neat and tidy presentation is expected. All riders must wear an approved safety helmet and it is the rider’s responsibility to ensure that helmets comply with the current Australian regulations. Correct footwear must be worn by riders at all times, Either Jodhpur Boots/Gaiters or top boots. No Competitor will proceed past the Jumping phase if they are disqualified or eliminated. Not all fences will be set at maximum Height for nominated class but a minimum of one fence will be at Maximum Height. No penalty is incurred if the lower pole on the same vertical plane is lowered. If a Pony/Horse jumps the incorrect fence it will be eliminated. Consistent disobedience shown by a horse/pony regardless of mounted or unmounted Page 4 of 7
will result in elimination. Competitors MUST know the set ridden workout. 8. All riders must be wearing an insurance wrist band provided by the office. 9. Placings to 10th Place, Heights will be awarded as Junior and Senior. 10. APSB Financial Members are eligible for the Overall APSB High Point Award. st nd Points allocated on 6 points -1 5 points -2 etc 11. Working Hunter Workouts are attached. 12. The program, timetable & judges subject to change if necessary. The organizing Committee reserves the right to add, delete or combine classes. 13. NO dogs allowed on the grounds. Exhibitors with dogs on the ground will be ELIMINATED and asked to leave. 14. NO refunds will be given after the close of entries other than entries on Reserve Lists that do not make a class. 15. LIABILITY WAIVER FORM EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN RIGHTS TO SUE The purpose of this agreement is to limit the liability of the Provider to exclude liability for any personal injury or death to the Participant and other people in the care and control of the Participant howsoever caused who signed this form as acknowledgement of the terms and conditions of this agreement. By signing this form you are waiving your rights to sue the Provider for losses relating to personal injury or death. Under the provisions of the Trade Practices Act and Various State Laws conditions are implied into contracts that mean that the Provider of Recreational Services, noted below, is required to ensure that the Recreational Services it sells to you are rendered with due care and still, are fit for the purpose for which they are commonly thought as it is reasonable to expect in the circumstances or might reasonably be expected to achieve the result you have made known to the Provider. The Provider acknowledges that they are providing Recreational Services detailed below which means providing facilities for participation in a recreational activity, or training a person to participate in a recreational activity, or supervising, adjudicating, guiding or otherwise assisting a person’s participation in a recreational activity. The Participant hereby acknowledges that in attending the recreational activity that there are inherent risks involved to him or her or other people in their control. The agreement is directed and limited to inherent risks that are present. The participants also acknowledge that the purpose of the recreational activity is for the benefit of the Participant and for the benefit of those people attending with the Participant and that at all times the Participant is responsible for his or her own actions and the actions of those people in his or her care and control. Description of Recreational Service Registering Body, promotion and conductor of shows, events and education days Steps taken by Provider to avoid the danger of personal injury or death Equipment inspections, qualified staff, staff/participation ratio compliant with industry Standard, adherence to industry code of practice, code of conduct or accreditation scheme, emergency procedures in place, contingency plans in place for emergencies, qualified first aid personnel available, communication procedures in place, etc. The participant acknowledges that during all times while he or she is attending the recreational activity he or she does so at his or her own risk and that the Participant and other people in the care and control of the Participant will not hold the Provider or any of its employees or agents liable for any personal injury or breach of contract whether caused by the negligence of the Provider, its employees or agents howsoever caused or otherwise. The Participant acknowledges that in the event that he or she or any other people in their care and control find either or any of them is in difficulty that they are to stop the activity or request that the activity be stopped if appropriate, seek help and/or assistance andadvice. Declaration and signature By signing this agreement I understand that the Recreational Services about to be sold to me as set out in this form may cause me and my dependents personal injury or death. By signing this agreement I understand that I and my dependants waive our rights to sue the Provider for losses relating to my and/or my dependants personal injury or death that result from any negligence caused by the Provider.
