Come and join us in room 22, and discover why you were created and the pur- pose God has for you! 5:30 p.m. “Living in Happiness, Aging With Confidence” by Senior Ministry COOKING UP A STRONG HOPE: …… building a strong hope into our children's lives. They need parents who tailor a plan to turn their unique, God-given abilities into assets, who aren't afraid to lead the way in living a great spiritual adventure, and who work to turn both their victories and their defeats into a series of accom- plishments. Abilities, adventure, and accomplishments--- they form a recipe for a strong hope. And since they don't sell professionally made hope over at your nearest Safeway Store, it's probably best if you learn to bake this yourself. Your first attempt might fall flat and your follow-up might leave you feeling a little dry, but you'll get good at it if you just don't give up. Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up ( Galatians 6 :7-9). — Grace Based Parenting, pgs 125,126 PARENT(S)’s RESPONSIBILITY: Parent(s), you are responsible for your child(ren) at all times. A child or children under 14 years MUST BE accom- panied by an adult to the restroom, at snack time, and during lunch break. Your child(ren) MUST BE in your company at all times. Nov 10 Deacons and Elders Ordination Nov 17 Pathfinder Fundraising Concert Family Life Department: Greetings Church! Our Kindness Campaign is in full swing, and we have created a Kindness Tree that is in need of your kind acts in order for it to bloom. We have left sticky notes, a pen and tacks to use to record your selfless acts, or the kindness that others have shown to you. Please use the supplies to write down the acts of kindness and place them on the tree, as this will be its leaves. We want our tree to be lad- en with leaves, as we show others God's love by His fruit of the spirit: Kind- ness. We have also created a “Take What You Need” board! We have put some of Gods words/key quotes to fill your heart and lift your spirit. It is our hope that this will serve as a boost when you may not have the umption to be kind, or when others have been unkind to you. We do ask you to limit the cards you take by category. The supplies placed by the board is for you to record your acts of kindness and help our tree to bloom! Please leave them there so that our project can continue to be a success. If anyone needs ideas on how to be kind... ask one of our team members. So let’s go and kill someone with kindness! Our Condolences to Sis. Rosetta Williams on the passing of her son. Please lift her up in prayer, in addition to other family members. Bro. Marcel Marcellin passed away on Mon- day. We have all been impacted by this illness, personally, through friends or family members after hearing of the diagnosis. Let's take this month to learn more about breast cancer, starting with prevention and screening. We've all heard how leading a healthy lifestyle, limiting alcohol intake, not smoking, and exer- cising regularly can help reduce risks. However, let’s focus on how important it is for all women to pay attention to their health, to talk to their health care professionals and get regular screenings as it is essential for early detection and treatment. Breast Cancer in Men: While breast cancer is largely a female disease, breast cancer does affect men. Around 350 men are diagnosed with the disease each year. Please be breast aware. The earlier breast cancer is diagnosed, the better the chance of beating it. The Community Services Department is in desperate need of male volun- teers to unload the truck on Friday mornings. Meditation of the Week: The Biblical guidance on forgiveness is that we forebear one another and forgive one another even as Christ forgave us. To forgive someone who hurts us can be one of the hardest things we face in life, as the pain and hurt others cause us are real and great. But, the pain of living with bitterness and unforgiveness can poison our mind and destroy us. When we forgive others, we are not saying what they did was ok, but we are allowing God to deal with the matter, and letting go of its hold on us. 8
