A little tour history Our highlands landscape has been a draw to Artists for centuries… Between the 70’s and 80’s things were hopping: two public galleries, a school of the arts, and many studios were emerging. In 1987 a small group of artisans informally discussed the concept of inviting the public to their studios to see where the work was being made. This was a new concept and the first tour was held in 1988 with 28 studios. For 32 years many of the founders have remained strong participants. Over the years member studios and guest artists have evolved. We are proud to still have one of those founding members amongst us. Today you will still see the iconic loon design by Peter Hoad. It marks the path as you travel throughout the highlands on this self-guided tour. Our vision of quality, juried art and fine craft, is displayed in working studios with demonstrations and the opportunity to meet and buy directly from the creators. This year you will see our new rebranded look, community collaboration while still representing many of your favourite artists as well as new guest artists offering a variety of mediums and techniques. It is exciting for us as artists to meet the blend of new and repeating customers. We are encouraged to push our art to explore new possibilities as we continue to grow and diversify. We look forward to celebrating the fall colours and shared appreciation of creativity with all of you.

I envisioned expanding the principles of glass and fabric design into painting. It is all about being unafraid of colour. I am fascinated by how the “bold lines” of different colours create depth and vibrancy. I love the simplicity of expressing in colour what cannot be spoken with words. 705.457.7474 maureenbennett2@gmail.com www.timesgonebystudio.com Cathy Taylor O Cathy Taylor Mosaics & Clay Works Piece by piece, cutting and assembling, Cathy designs contemporary styled mosaics from representational to abstract, using a variety of materials.
