ART Our visual arts programme contains an extensive and dynamic schedule of events and exhibitions. We have three dedicated gallery spaces: the Sidney Cooper Gallery, an acclaimed contemporary art space within Canterbury city centre, and The Burton Gallery and The Old Lookout Gallery at Broadstairs, which both offer an exciting range of exhibitions, events and annual publications. To be among the first to hear about forthcoming exhibitions and events, sign up to our free monthly e-bulletin at gallery@canterbury.ac.uk LIFE DRAWING WITH ROY EASTLAND Artist Roy Eastland will run two full day workshops on Life Drawing. SLOW ART DAY Soheila Sokhanvari, Two Serious Ladies Slow Art Day takes place in hundreds of galleries and museums around the world. It is designed simply to get more people looking at art. You will have the opportunity to look at a set number of Jerwood Drawing Prize artworks. This is all about learning to look slowly and carefully at artwork, hopefully realising that, as Henry David Thoreau once said, ‘it is not what you look at that matters, but what you see.’ Afterwards, you are welcome to stay in the gallery and discuss your thoughts over a free drink and biscuit.
