The race activities will be carried out according to the provisions on containing the spread of COVID 19
issued by the Federation that the Organizing Committees will activate and to which the participating
members must comply under the supervision of the Organizing Committee itself. Any cases of COVID 19
that may be detected during the event will be reported by the Organizing Committee to the competent
health bodies in charge.

1. ORGANIZING COMMETTEE (OC)
The “Round Aeolian Race” – 3^ Edition – is an off-shore sailing race organized by the Yacht Club Capo
d’Orlando (YCCO).

2 ADMISSION
The race is open to all boats with a valid ORC rating certificate (International or Club), with a minimum
hull LOA of 9,00 mt. The competing boats can enter in one of the following categories as defined by the
current “Normativa per la Vela d’Altura 2021 (NVA)” – paragraph 8,9,11,part II^ - of the Italian Sailing
Federation (FIV): “Regata” and “Crociera/Regata” which will form one Category and “Gran Crociera”,
as defined in the above mentioned “Normativa” that will form another Category.
The race is also open to sailing multihulls, with minimum hull LOA of 9 mt., with a valid MOCRA rating
Certification, that will form another category.
All boats must be in compliance with OSR Category 3 Equipment.

3. RULES:
The race will be governed by the following rules:
    - World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing;
    - Italian Sailing Regulations for Offshore Racing;
    - International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (when so required in the Sailing
       Instructions);
    - Offshore Special Regulations (OSR-minimum equipment and accommodation standards) for
       3rd category races with mandatory self-inflating liferaft and VHF ch.16 and 71.

4. COURSE
The course, of approximately 140 nautical miles, as follows: start and finish at Capo d’ Orlando, in front
of Capodorlando marina, disengagement buoy (eventual), Alicudi (to leave on the right)– Filicudi
Alicudi (to leave on the right)– Salina (to leave on the left) – Stromboli (to leave on the right)– Panarea
(to leave on the right)– Lipari (to leave on the right)– Vulcano (to leave on the left)– Arrival. The
course can be sailed clockwise or counterclockwise, upon the decision of each competitor. More

5. MEMBERSHIP
Italian sailors must be registered with valid membership card at national Autorithy (F.I.V.). Foreign
sailors must be in compliance with rules of their national Authority.

7. ENTRY
Entries are to be completed within 13th September 2021 filling the registration form on the website
www.roundaeolianrace.it and sending payment receipt of entry fee as follows:
€ 200,00 yacht LOA up to mt. 11,00;
€ 250,00 yacht LOA from mt.11,00 to mt.13,00;
€ 300,00 yacht LOA from mt.13,00 to mt.15,00;
€ 350,00 yacht LOA exceeding mt.15,00;

with bank transfer on account IBAN IT16 Z 03069 09606 100000163746. Named “Yacht Club Capo
d’Orlando SSD a r.l.”, with cause: RAR 2021 – Yacht name, and sailing no.;
Entry fee is not returnable . After 13th Sept., late entry fees will be subject to an increase of 20%.
Each competitor must deposit € 150,00 for the tracking equipment (as point 10 - TRACKING); the
deposit will be returnerd at the race end , after return of tracking equipment at Committee Secretary
office.

After registration on the web site each entrant must submit:
•   Copy of Valid liability Insurance certificate not less of € 1.500.000. , valid for “regattas” ;
•   Valid 2021 ORC International or ORC Club Certification for monohull, or Valid MOCRA
    Certifications for multihull.
•   Authorization for advertising (if the yacht is sponsored)
•   Crew list ;

Entry form and crew list to be filled are available on the website www.roundaeolianrace.it ; Time limit
for sending all documents, with entry fee, is hr.13:00 of 25th Sept. 2021. Yachts that have not
fully completed the registration process with all docs required by the deadline time, shall not
be admitted to race.

8. SAILING INSTRUCTION (SI)
SI will be available at on the website www.roundaeolianrace.it starting from 26th Sept. 2021.

9. CONTROLS
Yacht can be subject to controls before and after the race, about correctness of data yachts present on
the yacht Certifications, and also on OSR Equipment, as reported on this Notice of Race., and or on the
crew list.
Yachts must be available for these controls with at least one crew member on board, at their mooring
at CapodorlandoMarina, starting from h.10.00 of 29th Sept. 2021.

10. TRACKING
All entrants will be required to set on board a tracking system supplied by the Organizing Committee.
Upon UE GDPR 2016/279, all data will be used only for control yacht position during the race. Before
leave mooring, each entrant must activate the transponder, to be operating until end of race.
Installation on board shall end within h.18:00 of 29th Sept.2021.

11. SCORING
Scoring will be calculated using the system decided by Race Committee;
The Organizing Committee will issue different rankings, according the different categories, as at Point
2. Rankings will be issued for the categories participating for category. MAXI (Over 60’) will have a
own ranking from minimum 4 participants.

12. AWARDS
Award Line Honours for the first overall real time ;
Award New Record RAR for the yacht that register a new record – Actually 31h.15 min.15sec ;
Challenge RAR Trophy and e Award for the first corrected time for category “Regata” and
“Crociera/Regata”.
Award for the first corrected time for the Category “Gran Crociera”.
Award for the first corrected time for the Category “Multihull” with minimum of 3 participants.
Awards for the first corrected time for MAXI (Over 60’) with minimum 4 participants.
Awards for the second and third for each category;
Other Awards upon decision of Organizing Committee;

13. MOORINGS
Yachts that have requested it on the registration form, sent within the established deadline, will be
assigned a free berth from 26th September to 3rd October 2021 at the Marina di Capo d'Orlando. Any
water and energy consumption required will be subject to payment. Late or incomplete
communications of participation may result in the unavailability of free mooring.

14. LIABILITY
As per fundamental rule 3 W.S., “A yacht is solely responsible for the decision to start or not, or to
continue the race”; therefore the Competitors participate in the race at their own risk and under their
personal responsibility in all respects.
The Organizers decline any and all responsibility for damage to things, or injuries to persons or in
cases of death that occur both on land and in water, before, during or after the regatta as a result of
participation as per these instructions. Owners and skippers on board are reminded that they are
personally responsible for all accidents that may occur to their boats and / or their crews. It is
therefore they who will have to take out the obligatory insurance, necessary to cover all risks including
those towards third parties.
The person in charge is obliged to have on board the safety equipment required by law for the
navigation to be undertaken.

15. MEDIA RIGHTS
Competitors, Owners and their Guests grant full right and permission to the Organizing Committee to
publish and / or transmit at any media any photograph or filmed footage of people or yachts during
the event, including but not limited to TV commercials and everything else be used for its own
editorial or advertising purposes or for printed information.
The Organizing Committee may request that all boats display the flag (s) and sticker (s) of the
sponsors of the event for the entire duration of the event. The flags and / or stickers will be provided
by the organization.
