Milan has earned the title of design capital and is today in full renovation. New neighborhoods such as Porta Nuova or CityLife and buildings such as MUDEC (Chipperfield) or the Feltrinelli Foundation (Herzog & De Meuron) place it at the forefront of architecture and urban planning. This journey combines the rediscovery of the city with the most important event in the world of design and interior design: the Milan Furniture Fair 2023. This year, the exhibition, directed by Maria Porro, in addition to presenting the latest innovations in furniture and design, hosts the "Salone Satellite", dedicated to new talents, S. Project, and after 4 years, the Euroluce, dedicated to the world of lighting, in addition to a multitude of activities that are prepared for these dates. Milan Design Week is a unique opportunity to see the latest in furniture and lighting design and network with the industrialists, interior designers and design professionals from around the world who visit the city every year. DAY 1 Wednesday, April 19th
Arrival of participants by their own means. If required, airport transfer upon request. Check-in at the hotel or apartment. Free
lunch time.
In the afternoon, meeting with an architect-guide for a 3-hour tour of the city center to discover its most significant buildings
and the most interesting stores and galleries. Our itinerary begins in Piazza del Duomo, where we will visit the Cathedral and
its unique terrace overlooking the city, as well as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. From there we will enter the heart of
Milan's fashion and design boutiques of Milan. As we walk along, we will see some of the installations and activities of the
Fuorisalone that are created every year in the streets during the Design week as well as the most elegant showrooms of KME,
Poltrona Frau, B&B, Bulthaup, Cassina and Meritalia, etc.
Dinner at leisure. Night in Milan at hotel **** or apartment.
DAY 2 Thursday, April 20th
Breakfast at the hotel (included) or at Mercato Centrale (non included, for apartment stays).
Transfer by train from Stazione Centrale to Rho Fiera to visit the Salone del Mobile – Professionals (Ticket Included).
Free lunch time.
Meeting in the city center with the architect-guide for a 3-hour tour of the new architecture of the city, with works by
international architects such as SANAA, Grafton Architects and David Chipperfield.
Dinner at leisure. Night in Milan at hotel**** or apartment.

DAY 3 Friday, April 21st
Breakfast at the hotel (included) or at Mercato Centrale (non included, for apartment stays).
Transfer by train from Stazione Centrale to Rho Fiera to visit the Salone del Mobile - Professionals. (Ticket Included).
Free lunch time.
Meeting with the architect-guide at time and place to be determined for a 3-hour tour of two of the main new districts of the
city: City-life (masterplan by Libeskind, Zaha-Hadid and Isozaki) with buildings by the three architects, and Porta Nuova,
(masterplan Porta Nuova Varesine by Kohn Pedersen Fox) with buildings such as the Bosco Verticale by Stefano Boeri, or the
Unicredit Headquarters by Cesar Pelli.
Group dinner included in an excellent restaurant in the district of Porta Nuova specialized in fish and seafood.
Night in Milan at hotel **** or apartment.
DAY 4 Saturday, April 22nd
Breakfast at the hotel (included) or at Mercato Centrale (non included, for apartment stays).
Transfer by train from Stazione Centrale to Rho Fiera to visit the Salone del Mobile - Professionals. (Ticket Included).
On April 22 and 23 the Furniture Fair is open to the general public, so those who do not have professional accreditation
(related to interior design, architecture, furniture, lighting) can visit the fair on this day. Free lunch time and free return to
Milan.
Optional dinner in VIVA restaurant or similar, 1 * Michelin, to taste the creative cuisine of chef Viviana Varese

To fully enjoy the Milan Design Week, we propose 2 accommodation alternatives very well located in a central area of Milan
that thanks to its good transport communications allows you to easily and quickly reach the Furniture Fair located in Rho, a
municipality located near Milan. The first one consists of a 4**** design hotel with very architectural views, the second one
in a comfortable apartment for 2 people:
OPTION A- 4**** HOTEL
4**** Design Hotel located in an exceptional location overlooking one of the most famous buildings in Milan, the Pirelli
Tower designed by architect Gio Ponti. It is a hotel with a bold design and a vivid color palette in its decor, with all the
comforts desirable to spend a few excellent days in Milan. Its 171 elegant and sophisticated rooms offer certified
soundproofing. Highlights include the terrace overlooking the city, and the design of the cafeteria and restaurant.
OPTION B- APARTMENTS
It is a very well communicated apartment building, with a noble air. The apartments have a private balcony, bathroom and
kitchen and all the amenities to spend every day with comfort and independence, such as heating, air conditioning, TV or free
wifi.

OPTIONAL DINNER IN MILAN: VIVA RESTAURANT (subject to availability)
Complete your design week in Milan by enjoying an unforgettable gastronomic experience. We propose an optional dinner
at the Michelin-starred VIVA restaurant, where chef Viviana Varese shows off her creativity and love of detail in a charming
setting of vibrant design where color is the key.
“Viviana Varese's cuisine is a direct expression of the Chef's personality. It is made of leaps and balances, dedication and
passion, substance and color. From a young age, the stoves of her family's seafood trattoria fascinated her and were the first
stage of a path that led her to leave Campania to explore, learn, train. Places and people became landmarks: the Albereta
and Maestro Gualtiero Marchesi, El Celler De Can Roca in Girona, Christian Puglisi's Relae, Angel Leon's Aponiente, Albert
Adrià's Enigma in Barcelona. It is 1999 when Viviana Varese debuts with her sign Il Girasole, in the Lodi area. It is 2007 when
Alice Ristorante is born in Milan. In 2011 came the first Michelin Star, and soon after, the move into Eataly Smeraldo with
VIVA.”
THE PLACE. The restaurant, located on the second floor of the temple of foodies, Eataly Smeraldo, can accommodate 45
persons, and is characterized by its intimate and pleasant atmosphere. The decoration is full of details that reflect the chef's
personality:
“VIVA restaurant is living matter, color, life. The tables are by Riva 1920 and are made of solid wood from briccole, the poles
that in the Venice lagoon mark the waterways. Participation and conviviality, find a place at the Social table designed by
Renzo and Matteo Piano in ancient Kauri wood, a symbol of new life and return to light.”
THE MENU. For this occasion, we propose a 5-course tasting menu, based on seasonal products treated with imagination and

The Milan Furniture Fair 2023 is only open to the general public on April 22 and 23 and to students of design and interior
design related fields on April 21, 22 and 23, 2023. The travel program adapts to this situation by proposing cultural activities
related to the world of art and design for the mornings of April 20th and 21st

• Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli (cultural center by Herzog & de Meuron), Fondazione Sozzani, visit to the renowned
design concept store 10 Corso Como.
• Fondazione Prada (cultural center by OMA), with a coffee break in Bar Luce, designed by film-maker Wes Anderson, and
Fondazione ICA Milano, dedicated to contemporary art.
