News from our Center and from our members The Seminar for the Study of a Free Society was held on Wednesday 18, with Alberto Benegas Lynch (h), who spoke on "Relatively unexplored foundations of open society" (Cimientos poco explorados de la sociedad abierta). The seminar was moderated by Gabriel Zanotti. Again, the attendance exceeded 100 participants (110), including several of our research assistants. Activities can be seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afaQ8qpkG3o&t=34s Alberto Benegas Lynch (h) As part of his historical research on the activity of the Mont Pelerin Society, our counselor Alejandro Chafuen remembered that in the debate for the founding of the aforementioned society, in which Milton Friedman, Hayek, Robbins and other prominent intellectuals participated, they discussed objectives and a name similar to that of our Friedman Hayek Center. Chafuen shared a transcript of the conversation that accounts for this coincidence in his social networks. “It seems that this first discussion with Hayek and Friedman describes well the new Hayek Friedman Center of @ucema.edu , a clone of MPS but more inclusive? (speaking of academic Alejandro Chafuen disciplines, MPS is dominated by economists)”, reflected Alex Chafuen in this post https://www.instagram.com/p/CSei49XA46N/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
