Forty Second Annual Shore Conference Swimming Championships – Now at Rutgers! Thursday, January 30th, 2020 – Boys and Girls – 10:30am Meet Start, 9:30am Warm Up Doors open at 9:00am for Swimmers, Coaches, and Officials Doors open at 9:30am for Spectators SNOW DATE MAKE UPS: Saturday, February 1st, 2020 – Girls– 8:30am Meet Start, 7:00am Warm Up Boys – 1pm Meet Start; 11:30am Warmup Doors open at 6:45am for Swimmers, Coaches, and Officials and Spectators SNOW DATE LOCATION: NEPTUNE AQUATIC CENTER Due to the Smaller Seating Area at the NAC – Tickets will be disbursed to teams in the event of a snow date necessity. Tickets will then be accepted and paid for at the door. In the event of a snow date, additional parking information will be distributed and posted on the Neptune School District Site. Location Sonny Werblin Recreation Center, Busch Campus, Rutgers University Entrances and Coming off of lot 64 is the swimmer and swim spectator entrance located at the Spectator back of Sonny Werblin Rec Center. No deck chairs, coolers or strollers permitted. Information Absolutely no glass bottles allowed. As a reminder, seating, as with all athletic events, is limited. Please encourage parents to come early and to limit the amount of spectators each family brings. We will stop allowing people to enter when we reach capacity and will strictly enforce this for everyone’s safety. Entrance Fees and Shore Conference will be charging $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child. Programs Program Fees (psych sheets) will be sold for $2 each at the meet and meet sheets will be available through meet mobile app. Parking Parking for the spectators and any non-buses in lot number 64. Cars may not be Information parked illegally, and, to do so, risks towing and fines. Rutgers University requires all parked vehicles to be registered with the University Parking and Transportation department. (See map on page 5). Busses will be recalled back to the Rec Center at the conclusion of the meet.
Facility Info The Werblin competition pool has two 8-lane 25-yard courses, with a minimum depth for diving of 6 feet. There are two auxiliary pools, known as “patio pools” (some of which may be used for warmup/cool down at the discretion of the meet director) and seating for 1,000 spectators, including 400 chair-backed seats. There is a file import for TM II Lite at: http://www.hy-tekltd.com/downloads.html along with directions for use. If you do not have the team manager software, please download this to use. Then, import the Shore Conference Meet File from the www.NeptuneSchools.org website or www.besmarttinc.com . Entries must include the swimmers best time in yards from the 2019-2020 seasons. Relay entries must include four possible swimmers. Names may be changed up to 1/2 hour prior to the meet start at timing podium. No other events may be changed. After Psych sheets are released, no swimmers will be moved to a different event and times will not be adjusted to be faster than the original entry. If your swimmer wants their times to help them qualify for a sectional cut time, you MUST enter their swimmer ID number correctly into the entry submission. Entries Open January 1st, 2020 Entry Deadline January 24th, 2020 at 10:00pm Single entries accepted until 1/26/2020 for any swimmer who qualifies at Scarlet Cuts Novice Championship. No post entries and no additional or alternate entries the day of the meet. Entry Fees $450 per school or $15 per individual and $40 per Relay Event. Meet Format This meet will be run using two pools. This year the boys will be swimming in pool known as “Olympic A” while the girls compete in “Olympic B”. The boys and girls meets will run simultaneously with officials officiating and starting the meets separately. Spectators will be able to view both pools. Live heat sheets will be published on meet mobile app. Events and their order: 1. 200 Y Medley Relay BREAK AFTER EVENT 4 8. 200 Y Free Relay 2. 200 Yard Freestyle 5. 100 Yard Butterfly 9. 100 Yard Backstroke 3. 200 Yard Individual Med 6. 100 Yard Freestyle 10. 100 Yard Breaststroke 4. 50 Freestyle 7. 500 Yard Freestyle 11. 400 Y Free Relay 2020 Qualifying The following qualifying times will be used for entrance into the 2020 Shore Times Conference Championship.. All times must be from a certified 2019 – 2020 HS School Swim Season Time Boys Cut Times 2020 EVENTS Girls Cut Times 2020 2:07.51 200 YD. FREE 2:17.75 2:25.29 200 YD. IM 2:36.79 25.05 50 YD. FREE 27.97 1:05.05 100 YD FLY 1:10.76 56.65 100 YD FREE 1:01.88 5:48.50 500 YD FREE 6:07.99 1:07.45 100 YD BACK 1:10.99 1:13.49 100 YD BREAST 1:19.74 Entry Limits Each team will be permitted to enter four (4) swimmers per event. Swimmers are permitted to swim a total of four (4) events, but only two (2) individual events. Scoring Points are awarded for the first 16 places in each race according to the following scale: 20, 17,16,15,14,13,12,11,9,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 Relays carry double points. Swimmers who are entered as individuals and not on a team will not be included in the team scoring process and will not receive points. Medals This is a Timed Final Championship Meet where winners will be determined as each finished in his or her event. Medals will be awarded to the first eight place winners in each event. Trophies will be awarded to Team Champions in Boys Swimming and Girls Swimming. Rules 2019 – 2020 National Federation Edition, Swimming and Diving Rules and Case book will be used. No entries will be made faster after entries are submitted. No athletes will be switched to a different individual event after the Psych Sheets have been released. Please review your entries carefully and make changes before Psych Sheets are published to the teams. Coach and School Any school not wishing to compete in the tournament must notify the Shore Responsibilities Conference Secretary before the beginning of the regular season.
Coach and School Provide a coach on pool deck at all times Responsibilities Bring only swimmers who are swimming in the meet, not the whole team. Continued: Provide a coach to attend mandatory scratch meeting to be held 30 minutes prior. Provide Parent Timers for each team. Please have them sign up to volunteer using the link here: https://tinyurl.com/SCTimerVolunteer Clean up team section and dispose of all garbage and trash appropriately as well as gather any team belongings. Abide by all rules and regulations of the Rutgers University. Accurately and honestly report student’s times in yard format. Ensure that there is absolutely no cell phone use in the locker room Monitor students to ensure that there is absolutely NO DECK CHANGING. Do not allow students to go up to the parent seating area during the meet. Failure to comply with the above will result in the disqualification of your swimmer(s) for that day of competition. Deck Map & Info Deck seating maps, timing assignments, warm up assignments and marshalling information will be posted to the Neptune Aquatic Center Page in advance of the meets. In order to alleviate issues with swimmers stepping up to the blocks, we will have some marshalling of the girls pool to get the swimmers to the blocks with limited crowding.
