NEW ITEMS Archdiocesan News *NEW* Bishop LeGatt Video Message: Sincere Thanks! This week, as many are looking back to the last year since intensive public health measures were put in place in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Archbishop Albert takes a moment to look back and recognize in a special way the generosity expressed by countless many in our archdiocese through these challenging times. Namely, this year's Good Shepherd Campaign, which aimed to continue supporting seminarian formation, and to allow the archdiocese to continue to offer its various services despite diminishing income, was able to raise approximately $390,000. This is the fruit of so many faithful who saw an urgent need within our local Church to maintain and adapt its various ministries, in these trying times. Many thanks to all who contributed to this year's campaign, and equal thanks to the countless more who contributed to the vivacity of our Church in many other, often unseen, ways. Thank you! The most significant change for our churches involves the wearing of masks. The faithful must wear masks when singing. They may, however, remove their masks when seated, provided they are physically distanced from other persons. Development and Peace's theme for Share Lent 2021 is inspired by Pope Francis' encyclical Fratelli Tutti, which deals with fraternity and social friendship, reminding us that we are all sisters and brothers. This weekend, on March 20 and 21, we celebrate Solidarity Sunday (Share Lent collection) across the country. I invite all the faithful of our diocese to pray for peace, to reflect on the meaning of universal fraternity and to be in solidarity with the most vulnerable in the Global South. The Share Lent collection is an opportunity to honour the Holy Father’s message as a global community and to find inspiration from the parable of the Good Samaritan which is at the centre of his encyclical. It is a way of doing our part so that, as the Pope hopes, “every person lives with dignity and has sufficient opportunities for his or her integral development”. I invite you to make a Share Lent donation to Development and Peace, either through your parish, or directly to Development and Peace online at devp.org/lent, by phone at 1 888 234-8533 (toll-free) or by mail at 1425 Rene-Levesque Blvd West, 3rd floor, Montreal, Quebec, H3G 1T7 This Lent, let us embark on a path of sharing, love and universal solidarity! page 1 of 8

After a year since the start of more intensive public health measures, many are feeling like they’ve hit a wall, and are having trouble finding hope. In this week’s message, Archbishop Albert takes a moment to speak to those who may be particularly suffering from the effects of depression, anxiety, or other mental health difficulties. In whatever way we’ve experienced this time, we have been called to find new ways of living and responding as we transition from yesterday to tomorrow. Using themes from the Paschal Mystery, into which we fully enter this Holy Week, this retreat will provide an opportunity to reflect on the experience of this past year, grieve the losses, and open space within ourselves to live into tomorrow with a new richness in our daily lives. Note that the retreat will be live streamed Saturday, March 27, 10:30 AM- 5:30 PM (Manitoba Time), from Queen's House, Saskatoon, SK.
