EMOTIVE GEOMETRY "to add to the minimum forms a controlled emotional charge', making empirical the geometric process that produces a visual image with a sentimental impulse”
My resaerch is a study into the idea of being able to perceive and express visually the obsession for perfection, proposing the geometry as a guiding principle of the creative act. The intent is to visually convey the logical relationships that underpin the work, rejecting the immediate drive-guided and self- centered expression, to light up the need to contain and rationalize one’s own emotions to make them communicable, in the secret ambition to create a universal visual language. These numeric and mental places, emotional catalysts for attention, are translated into “Images-Object”, category according in which I work not bothering to create paintings, drawings or sculptures and by highlighting the overcoming of the idea of two and three-dimensionality, but using the installative setup as a visual support of the numerical supposition, the fundamental principle for each work. I take personal issues that affect the ability of individual expression and the relationship between self and world as a point of departure, always determining some limits, restraining my radius of action and my tools. I applie, in fact, mathematical and geometrical rules to determine each point both in the artworks space and in the gallery space. Explicitly referring to orthogonal or isometric projections and to the five unresolvable Euclidean problems, are created continuous forms that represent the tipping space and—by matching the two-dimensional projection with three-dimensionality—incorporate in themselves their processing power. They are transcriptions of a conceptual process that is made concrete by describing an hypothetical but plausible dimension, true and false, mental and real at the same time. It means "to add to the minimum forms a controlled emotional charge', making empirical the geometric process that produces a visual image with a sentimental impulse”.
AUTORITRATTO SELFPORTRAIT Series of paintings and wall-sculptures conceived and create with a geometrical study of the proportions of my face. Starting from pictures of myself that I take every morning I am trying to understand waht is the meaning of the entities that usually are called “dimensions”. Does any space between a tear and the eye exist? Work - in – progress.

COMPOSIZIONE PER MOVIMENTO UNICO COMPOSITION FOR AN ONLY ONE MOVEMENT Premio Cairo - art prize Installation that unites aluminum sculpture and panel painting. The work opens a series devoted to an inquiry into classical architectural orders and has as its starting point the orthogonal projections of Doric columns. The viewers can pass through the work: in this way they find themselves at the intersection point of the orthogonal axes, surrounded by an interplay of fullness and voids, two- dimensionality and three-dimensionality. Humanity finds its centrality in such disciplines as mathematics and geometry, wrongly held to be depersonalising. 2017 aluminum, oil painting on panel 187 x 187 x 100 cm walkable sculpture

ZZ ZZ Site specific project. Sculptures and painting create throught the isometric projection of the plan of the exhibition space correlating the circolar form of the ceiling and the modular uniformity of the perpendicular axis with the space occupied by my body as a geometric solid. The aluminum Image-Object start its own space in the middle of the environment due to tie-rods, a kind of invisible architectural elements which are able to preserve the structure despite being only some straight lines.

L’INTENZIONE DI UNA RETTA THE INTENTION OF A STRAIGHT LINE Series of Image-Objects that expresses the projections evolution, focusing on the progress of a straight line, in its many representative possibilities, virtual or actual. The identity between sculpture and space becomes apparent, and the indissoluble relationship between Image-Object and exhibition environment, as in La porzione della metà (The portion of the halfway), a geometric assembly embracing the supporting column of the exhibition hall, of which it represents a possible development. Or as in Elenchi (Lists), which mirror themselves, one being the negative part of the other; or even Proiezionesemplice2 (Simpleprojection2), a diptych that depicts, almost tautologically, the concept that underpins the whole ensemble works.

SOLIDI NOMINALI NOMINAL SOLIDS Series of paintings and wall-sculptures conceived and create explicitly referring to the Greek problems of antiquity, which were a set of geometric problems whose solution was sought using only compass/point and straightedge, specifically the construction of the Hendecagon and the Heptagon. These polygons have been a shape of much mystery in geometry cause their impossibility to not have approximations becoming a true and false method at the same time. The geometrical aluminum assembly represents the impossibility to construct a regular hendecagon, even in the perfect technical construction of the polygon inscribed in a circle, describing an hypothetical, but plausible, mental, and realistic dimension.

SIMPLE PROJECTION PROIEZIONE SEMPLICE Triptych conceived and created by highlighting the overcoming of the idea of composition and painting and two and three- dimensionality. The painting is developed as a site-specific orthogonal projection by imagining the gallery area as a numerical and mental space where the forms have been defined as Images instaed of parts of the technical geometrical drawing and process demonstration. 2017 oil painting on panel 190 x 200 x 2 cm triptych aluminum frame

IL MINIMO THE MINIMUM The initial question is "What is the smallest possible gesture to create an image?". The analysis of the Point in Space and its development is the answer that gave rise to the series of sculptures conceived by speculating the movement of a point on an area by improperly using a 3D software, forcing it to behave as if it was operating on a two-dimensional plane—making the Cartesian axes to match—thus generating graphics, ellipses and hyperboles from which simple geometric shapes derive, that are then multiplied and assembled. The research investigates the synthesis of the gesture and spatial properties of sculpture, through a floating, aerial perspective. Therefore, THE MINIMUM is understood here, as the Space that gravitates around one Point, in which the subtraction constitutes the finalization of the very act.

IDEAL DRAWINGS DRAWINGS Always resaerching or making special kind of paper, all the drawings series are developed splitting the sheets area through mathematical equations arbitrarily chosen by myself. The adoption of this anlytical perspective and objective parameters to tell intimate and personal stories indicates the need to contain and rationalize my own emotions to make them communicable, in the secret ambition to create a universal visual language.
