The visit was inspired by the shared project between Marshgate School and the almshouse community, where we brought children and residents together over the period of a year to grow friendships and to learn from one another. Smriti Prasadam-Halls, a relative of one of our residents and currently writer-in-residence at BookTrust, helped organise the visit, mindful of the difficulties of different generations coming together over this Christmas period. 8
