M E D I A K I T 2 02 0 ● From the editor 2020 already! It can’t be true… I don’t know about you but I vividly recall 1980’s and 1990’s thoughts about what life might be like in the year 2020. Progressing from dragster to Mongoose BMX (with Tuffs!) to a Ricardo racer, I thought bike tech was pretty outstanding back in the day – who would’ve ever imagined how far things would come! I guess the one constant of change is change. And as much as those old retro classics were evolving in the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s, the trend is continuing (even more so!) today. In the final edition of Bicycling Australia for 2019 we published a major feature – one that is probably the most extensive article in the history of the title – on the next 12-months in cycling. Titled ‘Vision 2020’ Peter Maniaty spoke with key players of the industry – from Australia and around the world. In summary … It’s an incredibly exciting time to be an enthusiast of the sport. We are particularly excited about the year ahead – 2020 will be a huge year for men’s & women’s cycling in Australia and we’ll be here to closely cover all aspects of the sport. Just as the sport of cycling continues to grow, so too does Bicycling Australia. Our reach now includes Australia’s #1 cycling magazine, four Gran Fondo events, five websites, numerous social channels across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Linkedin, weekly newsletters, our Strava Club, comprehensive website and the new monthly Bicycling Australia podcast! Tens of thousands of Australian cycling enthusiasts have grown to trust, rely upon and enjoy our content … and so as far as we’re concerned we are just getting started. Join us in 2020… we know it’s going to be an exciting ride! Nat Bromhead, Editor

It’s a social occasion – an event where groups of like-minded people come together to identify, to share and to compete. It’s also a solitary pursuit – a zone where the individual can escape and relax, or focus and push themselves to their limits. It’s a lifestyle. And we’ve tapped into this, establishing a following of dedicated, die-hard, and valuable riders. 70% 34% 64% 80% are male are aged have a $100k+ ride over 3 30% are female 40-50 annual income times a week (and growing) 50% 73% 87% ride a race bike have made a purchase are influenced and 50% ride an based on editorial/ by reviews endurance bike advertising in the mag in the mag 70% 85% 45% 50% ride 5,000 to ride in buy the best own bikes 15,000 km a year organised events equipment valued at $5k+ possible
