Located in Knox County and the Heart of Ohio, the 35-acre sugar bush has been in the family for over 50 years. Eric remembers making syrup with his father and he re-opened the operation 37 years ago. He started his operation out in the woods with a roof supported by four trees and with help and wisdom from his father, he began making syrup. Since then, making maple syrup has been a yearly event shared by family and friends. Free Samples Maple Cream Pie (makes 8-10 servings) 1 can sweetened condensed milk 2/3 cup Pure Ohio Maple Syrup ½ cup toasted salted pecans or walnuts 2 cups real whipped cream 1 baked graham cracker pie shell Combine condensed milk and Pure Ohio Maple Syrup in a heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until boiling. If mixture does not start to thicken, boil an additional minute or two until it does. Cool. Place chicken in a lightly greased 13 x 9 baking dish. cover and bake 20 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine Pure Maple Syrup, mustard, sage, salt & pepper. Remove chicken from oven; add vegetables and baste with syrup mixture. Tubing with vacuum & buckets. Free samples. ***OPEN All of March*** Maple Butter Toffee Place 2 c butter, 1 1/3 c sugar, 2/3 c pure maple syrup & 3 oz water in heavy bottom pan. Cook over medium heat to 298 degrees stirring constantly. Remove from heat & stir in 1 TBSP vanilla & 1 tsp salt. Quickly spread over a buttered baking sheet. Once cooled, melt 1 ½ c dark chocolate & spread over toffee. When chocolate hardens, break into candy pieces. Maple Bacon Pretzel Blondies In a bowl – mix 1 yellow cake mix, 2 eggs, ½ c melted butter & ¼ c cooked chopped bacon, Bake in a 9 x 13 pan for 20 minutes @ 350 degrees. Cool. In a small bowl, whisk 1 c powdered sugar, 2 TBSP Pure Maple Syrup & 1 TBSP water. Drizzle over brownies & sprinkle with ½ c crushed pretzels & ½ c bacon. Nova Scotia Date Squares Crust Filling 1 ¼ cup flour 1 1/2 cup chopped dates 1 ½ cup rolled oats ¾ cup Maple Syrup 1 cup brown sugar 1 tsp baking soda ½ tsp salt 1 cup butter In a saucepan combine dates & maple syrup. Bring to a boil & allow it to simmer till mushy. If mixture becomes too dry, add more water. Mix flour, rolled oats, sugar, baking soda, salt & butter in large bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Press ½ into 9 x 12 pan. Spread date mixture over & top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Maple Oatmeal Cookies 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 cup apple sauce 1 tsp salt 2 eggs (beat before adding) 2 cups instant oats 1/3 cup pure maple syrup 1 cup raisins 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1 tsp baking soda Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix sugar, apple sauce, eggs and maple syrup. Stir in remain- ing ingredients, mix well. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonful, about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet and cool. Maple Candied Sweet Potatoes Recipe 1/4 cup maple syrup 1/4 cup apple juice 1 tablespoon butter 4 small sweet potatoes, peeled 1/2 cup raisins 2 cups of the miniature marshmallows Instructions Use a 3-1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker. In a sauce pan, combine all the above ingredients except for the fruit. Bring it to a boil, reduce heat & let simmer for 5 minutes. Add your fruit, let fruit simmer in sauce for 10 minutes, stirring often. This is fantastic in the bottom of a bowl with vanilla ice cream on top.
