Mallards New Look The Mallards have unveiled a refreshed and hyper-local look for the team. Featuring a shot-calling Maynard G. Mallard and a home plate made of Wisconsin cheese, the updated logo is ready to step up to bat with the greater Madison community! Designed by Madison based creative agency, Planet Propaganda, the logo celebrates the connection between Madison and the Mallards while introducing blue and cream to the team’s color palette along with the classic (but updated) green and yellow. The sashaying “M” and Mallards wordmark evoke the nostalgia of America’s favorite pastime and fun summer days at the ballpark. Bright and bold, this homer-hitting duck is pointing straight to the Northside of our beautiful isthmus. Inside of the ballpark, a new section of the rebuilt Paul Davis Team Store will be dedicated to hand-crafted goods commissioned from Dane County artists and artisans. Ranging from custom mugs to hand-embroidered T-shirts, the Mallards want to connect art and baseball through these unique pieces. The Local Spotlight collection will be available in-store and online along with new 2021 Mallards merchandise.

fivetoolale.com Game Preview Following a tight 6-5 loss against the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Saturday which ended a three-game winning streak, the Madison Mallards (14-18) welcome in the Kenosha Kingfish (19-13) for a two-game set. Grab a Cold One. Last night the Mallards came back from a 5-0 deficit thanks in part to a game-tying two-run home run from Drake Baldwin (Missouri State). Baldwin is 7-for-7 with two walks in his last two games at the plate and will be in the cleanup spot in the lineup tonight. The Woodchucks scored in the top of the ninth and then the Mal- lards fell just short in the bottom of the inning, putting runners at second and third with nobody out and failing to score. Tonight, the Mallards will send left-hander Andrew Neu (UW-Milwaukee) to the mound to start. Neu has made five starts this season and owns a 4.15 ERA in 26 total innings pitched. He pitched in Kenosha back on June 9th and threw six shut- out innings in a victory. On the mound for the Kingfish will be left-hander Dante Guarascio (Carthage Col- lege). Guarascio is 1-1 on the season with a 2.7 ERA in his five starts. He pitched against Madison on June 8th and got the win, allowing just one run in five innings. The Kingfish come into today’s game tied for first place in the Great Lakes East di- vision with Traverse City. The next two games will be the final two of the first half season, with the second half starting on Tuesday, so a playoff spot is on the line for Kenosha. VS.
