Courses Calendar from 01/01/2021 to 31/12/2021 Cycling 21CYC001: Cycling Group Type: Long Course Dates: 03/02/2021 - 08/12/2021 Frequency: Second- and Fourth-Week Bi-Monthly, Wed 9:00 - 14:00 Location: Various TBA Tutor/Leader: David Wilson Most rides are 40-55 km on the Bay trail, Westernport trails and the Bellarine Peninsula. We also venture on the Peninsula and Eastlink trails and some of the city trails during the year. We include some 2-4-day excursions to country destinations e.g., South Gippsland and Geelong. We are a friendly bunch and welcome new members. Twice a year the group goes away for 3 days together riding rail trails in rural Victoria. Requirements: Bike can be e-bike and bike rack. We avoid hills as much as possible and ride between 10 to 12ks. A coffee stop is obligatory either halfway or at the end of the ride. EFT involves using the fingers to tap on acupuncture points of the body. This helps balance the meridian system, lowering cortisol levels, and reducing stress and pain. EFT is evidence-based (research-based) and is used worldwide to treat a variety of physical and emotional conditions. It is safe, easily learned and there are no special requirements except to do it! Courses Calendar from 01/01/2021 to 31/12/2021 Music 21MUS002: Musical Keyboard Type: Long Course Dates: 04/02/2021 - 25/11/2021 Frequency: Weekly Course, Thu 14:00 - 16:00 Location: Private Home TBA Tutor/Leader: Jean Freeman The aim of this course is to learn the Keyboard and understand the functions of the keyboard, with keyboard split and accompaniments, recording and saving performances, downloading via USB internet styles, voices, and registrations, mixing using harmony and effects, etc., etc. It would also be an opportunity to exchange music and look at the excellent music tutorial sites on the internet and be a great source of mutual admiration and encouragement. Music Composition & study of the jazz standards are part of this course. A Yamaha and Technics Keyboard is available, or members can bring their own. We have a BBQ at the end of each month. Members are welcome to stay after the game for a chat and coffee. Ball prizes are given for high handicap competitions, low handicap competitions, nearest to the pin and longest drive in each handicap division. The emphasis is on touring and recreation. Initial trips will be to Devilbend Reservoir. Varying lengths of sessions - most local sessions will last 3-4 hours. Suitable waterways on the Peninsula are limited so trips further afield are envisaged e.g., the Yarra, the Maribyrnong, the Goulburn, the Barwon. Some of these trips will necessitate overnight stays.
