Agenda Speakers 1-3 8:15AM Welcome and Registration Jeff Bray “Faith Makes a Fool of What Makes Sense” Jeff Bray was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Criminology and a minor Jeff Bray — Latino Youth Advocate, Latino Cultural in Sociology. Immediately following his graduation, Jeff participated in The World Race, Connection an 11 month trip around the world. Upon his return, he took a job at New Philadelphia 8:45AM Introduction and Speakers 1-3 Delilah Caldwell, Ph.D. — Philosophy Instructor City Schools as an ELL (English Language Learner) tutor, soon becoming the ELL Family Nate Kamban — Superintendent, Tuscarawas Liaison for the district, where he worked in depth with the Latino students and their families. County Board of Developmental Disabilities In 2014, Jeff and a group of friends founded Latino Cultural Connections (LCC), a local nonprofit that acts as a resource for Latinos and the community, where he has served as 9:55AM Session 1 (Lunch A) Attend one of six workshops from the list below. the Latino Youth Advocate with LCC for the last two years. Jeff is also a member of the Tuscarawas County Child Advocacy Center, where he participates as a member of the Multidisciplinary Team as a Certified Victim’s Advocate and a trained forensic interviewer. Speakers 4&5 Workshop 1 Hannah Urfer “The Challenge is the Opportunity” “Creating a Better Tuscarawas County: #livetusc” Hannah Urfer is an Account Manager at Sourdough Digital Marketing where she manages Diane Lautenschleger, Hannah Hubbard, Rome Marinelli, and Gabriel Riggle projects and develops content for both digital and traditional marketing initiatives. During college she completed an internship at WJER. Following graduation she was participated in a variety of activities outside of the classroom, including the Innovation, offered a position at the radio station where she uses that degree daily working as Community Relations and Creativity, and Entrepreneurship Scholars Program, Delta Zeta Sorority, the Buckeye Events Director. You will frequently see Hannah around the county as she gives her knowledge and time to Leadership Fellows, and the Department of Theatre Production of Heathers: The Musical. In her free time, the success of the Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market, and the J. E. Reeves Vintage Style Show. He attended Kent State Tuscarawas and completed his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering at The Ohio State University. Rome Marinelli is co-founder of Sustainable Wildlife Area Restoration Movement, SWARM. A graduate of Tuscarawas Steve is an Executive Vice President and part owner of Allied Machine and Engineering Corp. in Dover, Ohio. Gabriel Riggle earned his JD from Pace University Elisabeth Haub School of Law in 2010, concentrating on International and Environmental Law. He is a 2004 graduate of Indian Valley High School and received an undergraduate degree from Otterbein University in 2007. His career has taken him from two years of service to Tuscarawas County as an AmeriCorp member to two years in the Republic of Moldova as a Peace Corps volunteer. Gabriel now works for the Ohio and Erie Canalway Coalition as Development and Event Coordinator. Acting to improve pedestrian and cycling trails and greenspace, Gabriel has read many boring government documents on spending proposals so that he can make suggestions about how the proposed projects, such as roads and bridges, could be improved to make the county a more active and healthy place to live. A dedicated cyclist, Gabriel once rode his bicycle to Cleveland to catch a train to New York City for a weekend of city exploration. He came back home by train and bike. 4 5

In this interactive workshop, participants will identify negative attitudes encountered in work and school Many of the people who directly inspire us never know their impact. We’ll discuss how everyday people, environments and will be given strategies to overcome these attitudes and develop a positive approach for including ourselves, inspire the people close to us. dealing with difficult personalities. Cherie Bronkar is the Library Director at Kent State University Tuscarawas. She is the advisor for Undergraduate Maria Burkholder, AAS, BS, RVT, is an Associate Lecturer at Kent State University Tuscarawas, where she teaches Student Services and a member of the OhioLINK Library Advisory Council of Chairs. Cherie has over 25 years several courses in the Veterinary Technology program. She is a 1996 graduate of Dover High School. She of experience in libraries and taught at Muskingum University, Franklin University, Mid-East Career and Technology attended The Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Management as well as Centers, and Belmont College prior to her position with KSU Tuscarawas. She is vice-chair of Ohio’s Statewide Coalition Association, and serves on multiple committees and associations both locally and throughout the State. She is passionately committed to strengthening families and communities. In her free time, she serves as a high school youth group leader and enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. She has resided in multiple states but currently calls Bolivar, Ohio home. Harim C. Ellis grew up in Cincinnati, OH. He attended Northern Kentucky University where he majored in organizational leadership. Harim currently serves as the Director of Youth-Led Programs for the Prevention Action Alliance and is very excited about the Youth-Led work being done in the State of Ohio. Ellis brings more than 10 years of experience working in equity and inclusion and working with young people for statewide organizations such as Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program and national organizations such as the Urban League. Harim, very active in his community, is constantly striving to better himself, his community, and his world daily. Harim always remembers that saying “What can I do?” Will always accomplish more than saying “Something must be done.” 6 7
