Let there be Peace on Earth! Pope Francis is calling all of us to spend Ash Wednesday as a day of prayer and fasting for peace in our world. It is a season of penance, reflection, and prepares us for Christ's Resurrection through which we attain redemption. Receiving ashes as an important symbol to help us develop a spirit of humility and sacrifice. To the left is our schedule for Prayer Service, Masses and Drive-Thru Opportunities. Ashes on the Asphalt will take place at the Brunswick Recreation Center Parking Lot on March 2, 6:50 am - 7:10 am. Additionally, we will be offering our Wednesday PSR students in-class Ashes; our day school will have their own Masses; and our EMs will be taking Ashes to nursing home residents throughout the day. Samantha is 8 years old and in the 2nd grade at Hickory Ridge Elementary School. She is the oldest of three siblings and is very sweet to her brother, Johnny, who is age 7, and her sister, Juliana, who is 5-years old. In addition to the Saint Ambrose Angel Choir, Samantha is involved in gymnastics, cheerleading, swimming, and our PSR. She will be receiving her First Eucharist here at our parish in May 2022 and will attend our Vacation Bible School again this summer. Samantha is very active. Her mom shares that she is always doing cartwheels all over the house and enjoys singing on her karaoke machine, playing outside, and walking her dog named Snickers. Her favorite snack is popcorn. CARES & COMPASSION CARES & Compassion Community Outreach News Recently, our amazing Outreach Group painted two bedrooms and a kitchen for one of our members. The energetic group consisted of Diane Graham, Patty Scalfano, Sharon Moody, Mike Brovchak, Ed Sobek, Jim Mandabach, and Bob and Donna Howski. You can tell by the smiles on their faces that they were having a blast serving with the compassion of Christ. Our Outreach Team is aways willing to help make someone's day a little brighter, spreading God's love. May God bless them for all they do. Our Outreach Team loves to offer their skilled hands and caring, compassionate hearts to help those who need it! We are looking for indoor tasks to fill our monthly projects. PB&J Brigade Recap This past month, our wonderful members from our PB&J Brigade and our Embark students answered the urgent call of the Lord. On our largest packing night, we started with only 68 sandwiches. But, within one hour, together we made over 900 sandwiches. We are thankful to have such compassionate members who care deeply for those in need. Our Ministry is always in need of helpful hands!
