A Message from the Mayor Mayor Desmond McDonald Town of St. Anthony WINTERFEST 2019 - MARCH 14 to 24 On behalf of Council and the residents of St. Anthony, it is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all who will be participating in the 2019 Winterfest activities in our community. Since its inception, Winterfest has provided an opportunity for residents and visitors to participate in any number of winter activities, including; flag raising, Winterfest pageant, entertainment, games and great food. Winterfest Community Readiness Representative TERRI-LEE RICHARDS TO BE 2019 WINTERFEST REPRESENTATIVE Terri-Lee Richards was born October 4th, 1983 to Hubert and Barbara Richards of St. Carol’s. She has two older brothers, three nieces and two nephews. Terri-Lee was born with Cohen’s Syndrome, severely flat feet and is legally blind. She attended school in St. Carol’s until grade 2 and then went to St. Anthony where she graduated from H.C.C in 2001. Terri-Lee still enjoys going through her math book, which she considers her homework. Terri-Lee loves to spend time with her friends, especially those from the Joy Fellowship group she attends on Tuesday and Community Readiness on Wednesdays. She loves to attend Max Simms Camp every summer and also enjoys spending time with her dog Tanner and cat Lucky. Her interests include watching cartoons, playing with her cards and crayons, and she especially loves her trips to Tim Hortons for coffee. She really enjoys attending church where she loves to sing and clap her hands, particularly to the hymn, “I’ll Fly Away” Terri-Lee is an outgoing person and anyone who knows her certainly knows she can speak her mind at times. We are certain that she will enjoy her week as the Community Readiness Representative for Winterfest 2019. The pageant will kick off the carnival at White Hills Academy gymnasium on Thursday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m., as eight contestants display their wares before a panel of judges in a bid to become the 2019 Winterfest Ambassadors.
