Golf Shop News A LETTER FROM THE GROUNDS DEPARTMENT Dear LCC members, I hope everyone had a great holiday and start to the New Year. I would like to give you an update to our current bunker restoration project. The project is moving along well thanks to favorable weather this fall. Hen- derson and Company are following the site plan and all work is approved by the club's architect Ron Forse. The old sand is being removed, modifi- cations to the shape, size and drainage are being made as necessary and liners will be installed to our more severe washing bunkers. New sand will then be added. Work is also being done around the exterior of the bunkers to move the flow of water away from the edge to reduce wash- outs. The contractor is working on different holes at one time to install as many of the Capillary Concrete bunker liners while temperatures are above freezing. Ryan Fogel Grounds Superintendent As shown in the picture below most of the greenside and several fairway 610.967.4643 bunkers are getting a Capillary Concrete liner. The product is a polymer- based concrete that can move water both up and down to regulate mois- rfogel@lehighcc.com ture in the sand but drains water at 100 inches per hour. This will signifi- cantly reduce washouts in heavy rainfall events while eliminating soil contamination and save the grounds department days of work to getting them playable again. I hope you all have a safe and healthy 2022. Sincerely, Ryan Fogel Grounds Superintendent Lehigh Express Jan_Feb 2022 11
