A cohesive learner journey Wellbeing and learning at St George’s “ Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” Aristotle I am very pleased to outline the learning and wellbeing structure from September 2021. As we move into a new and exciting phase for the young people of St George’s, the focus of the IB (Primary Years) and PSB (Years 7 and 8) is to create a cohesive and consistent learner journey for children aged 3-13. There are two key strands to this: learning and wellbeing. To achieve our vision of enabling our children to be ‘Real World Ready’, we have developed a faculty structure, details of which are outlined in this booklet. Vertically, our faculty structure is as follows: Pre-Prep (including Early Years Foundation Stage): Kindergarten - Year 3 The IB Primary Years Prep School: Years 4 - 6 - The IB Primary Years Senior Prep: Years 7 -8 - The Pre-Senior Baccalaureate As you will see from the following information, our learning and wellbeing staffing structure reflects these three sections, and is run along a faculty system. This enables collaboration and enables us to deliver the best possible experience for the young people from aged 3-13. Building on an impressive heritage, we are preparing for a new era at St George’s. Our unique approach to learning, underpinned by first class teaching and wellbeing, will enable the children to develop the skills and mindset to truly flourish in this new world. My colleagues and I look forward to our partnership with you from September. William Goldsmith Head
