Lakeville Enrichment Spring Trimester (March 14 to May 27) Course Information: 1. Time: 8:00AM to 9:00AM. 2. Courses start the week of March 14th through the week of May 23rd. 3. No class when school is closed. Class make-up: week of May 31st. 4. Registration fee: $100 per course, unless otherwise stated in description. 5. March 9th Registration Deadline Date. Each course requires a minimum of ten registrants to run, unless minimum # is otherwise stated. 6. No Refunds after March 9th. 7. Class sizes are limited based on teacher request. Early registration is recommended. AM Enrichment Class Offerings: 8:00AM to 9:00AM Monday Title: Cursive Counts! Teacher: Julie Smith Grade(s): 2nd – 4th Day: Monday Fee: $100 Reg. Max: 16 Description: Although we are in the age of electronic devices, Cursive Writing still Counts! Putting pencil to paper has advantages that typing cannot replace. Researchers have found positive benefits from higher level language skills to memory and critical thinking. In this course, students will learn how to read and write in cursive handwriting. *Not recommended for students who have previously participated in this course. Tuesday Title: Cursive for 5th Graders! Teacher: Jocelyn Ayende Grade(s): 5th Day: Tuesday Fee: $100 Reg. Max: 16 Description: Before going to middle school, 5th graders need to know the basics when it comes to writing and reading cursive. From signing their names to writing friendly letters, students will learn the art of cursive writing!
Tuesday (continued) Title: Creative Building Teacher: Adam Feinstein Grade(s): 3rd – 4th Day: Tuesday Fee: $100 Reg. Max: 20 Description: Students working with a variety of K'nex systems, will discover how building systems work, the understanding of gears and motors, and how these systems impact functionality of larger mechanisms. Participants will be strengthening their problem-solving skills, spatial relationship awareness and exercising their imagination. Title: Math Card Games Teacher: Carol Laby Grade(s): 3rd Day: Tuesday Fee: $100 Reg. Max: 16 Description: This is a great class for third graders to play cards and strengthen their math skills. A deck of cards is a wonderful tool for fun and learning. *This class is for students who have not taken it before. Thursday Title: Keyboarding for Kids Teacher: Theresa Wygand Grade(s): 2nd – 4th Day: Thursday Fee: $100 Reg. Max: 16 Description: This course will strengthen your keyboarding skills while at the same time increase your speed using your computer devices. You will become familiar with the "Home Row" keys and utilize various punctuation and numerical keys. Great course to gain confidence on the Keyboard! *Not recommended for students who have previously participated in this course.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 1. March 9th Registration Deadline Date. 2. Payment is by Credit Card through MySchoolBucks, check or money order only. 3. Payment by MySchoolBucks, which adds a 3.95% processing fee, guarantees placement at time of registration. 4. Paying by Check or Money Order must be received within three business days after registering online or risks automatic cancellation of that course(s). 5. A $10.00 processing fee will be deducted from any refund requested prior to the registration deadline. NO REFUNDS after the program registration deadline. 6. In the event of program cancellation due to low enrollment a full refund will be issued. 7. If the district closes operations due to inclement weather or any other reason, enrichment programs will be cancelled for that day. All reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule cancelled programs. 8. Parents are responsible for transportation. 9. Register on-line through FamilyID https://www.familyid.com/great-neck-school-year-enrichment-programs 2. To find your program, click on the link provided by the Organization above and select the registration form under the word Programs. 3. Next click on the blue Register Now button and scroll, if necessary, to the Create Account/Log In blue buttons. If this is your first time using FamilyID, click Create Account. Click Log In, if you already have a FamilyID account. 4. Create your secure FamilyID account by entering the account owner First and Last names (parent/guardian), E-mail address and password. Select I Agree to the FamilyID Terms of Service. Click Create Account. 5. You will receive an email with a link to activate your new account. (If you don’t see the email, check your 6. E-mail filters (spam, junk, etc.). 7. Click on the link in your activation E-mail, which will log you in to FamilyID.com 8. Once in the registration form, complete the information requested. All fields with a red* are required to have an answer. 9. Click the Continue button when your form is complete. 10. Review your registration summary. 11. Check or Money Order payments, print registration summary and include a copy with your payment (check or money order, made out to “Great Neck Public Schools”) mailed or dropped at: The Phipps Administration Bldg. 345 Lakeville Rd. Great Neck, NY 11020 C/O: Recreation Dept. 12. Locate the blue Submit button. After selecting Submit, the registration will be complete. You will receive a completion email from FamilyID confirming your registration. At any time, you may log in at www.familyid.com to update your information and to check your registration(s). To view a completed registration, select the Registrations tab in the blue menu bar at the top of your screen.
