Thank You Dear Members of Congregation Beth Shalom, It has been a few months since I had the opportunity to take you back in time and experience what it was like to live in a Jewish ghetto. Your enjoyment of “Tears, Joy and Hope: Yiddish Songs Written in the Jewish Ghetto” was made known to me during our reception as many of you expressed words of appreciation. Some of the comments were quite intriguing. It was gratifying for me to see how many of you were vividly moved and compelled to share your own connections of individuals mentioned in my program. Honest expressions from an audience can give a program credibility, making it more likely that other congregations will have interest in it as well. Your feedback was greatly appreciated. Thank you for inviting me to Congregation Beth Shalom and allowing me to share these beautiful songs and stories that are such an important and meaningful part of our Jewish heritage. Warmly, Harriet Bennish Editors Note: If you are interested in sharing your stories or more details with Harriet to help her program expand, please feel free to email her at harrietbennish@gmail.com. If you do choose to contact her, please let her also know if she has your permission to use all or part of your comments in print or other medias. July 2019 Congregation Beth Shalom 7
