Kids at College Summer 2022 Join us this summer as we kick off another round camps with locations in Baytown and Liberty, the Kids at College Summer Camp Program offers fun and educational courses designed for children ages 5-17. Register Now Important Information Registration When registering your child for a summer camp, please register using your child's name (not the parent's name). • Online 1. Log on at www.lee.edu/kids/ (this page) 2. Click the "Register Now" button (above) 3. Select one of the sub-categories 4. Select the camp of your choice 5. Click "Enroll Yourself." (Please make sure you use your child's name when enrolling in the class.) 6. For Returning Users: Enter username & password Click "Log On." For New Users: Click "Sign Up" Fill out all fields Click "Add Account." 7. The camp you selected should be in your cart. Click "Proceed to Checkout." Have your credit card ready for payment. Fill out the "Name on Card" (Parent Name). Fill out the "Address." Click "Payment Service." Type credit card number and expiration date. Confirm the cardholder's name and billing address. Missed Classes In the event a participant is unable to attend a class(es), make-up classes will not be offered. 1
Participants with special needs or allergies Please call 281.425.6311 before registering a child with special needs or any allergies for a summer camp. Payment Full payment of program fee must be made at the time of registration. Cancellation Lee College reserves the right to cancel any program because of low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. A full refund will be issued. Wait List If a program is full, you may request to add your child's name to the waiting list. Registration fees do not apply for waiting line spots. If a spot becomes available, you will be contacted and given 24 hours to respond before we offer the spot to another participant. Withdrawals No refunds will be provided/issued after a class begins. To receive a 100-percent refund, parents must call 281.425.6311 and request to drop their child from the program at least THREE BUSINESS DAYS before the start date of the class. Complete processing of refunds can take up to four weeks, depending on payment type. In Support of a Safe Summer Camp Lee College reserves the right to expel any child in violation of unacceptable behavior from any Kids at College summer camp program. This includes, but is not limited to: possession of weapons, sexual harassment, sexual assault, throwing of articles in an aggressive manner, attempts to incite violence, abusive or disrespectful language, obscene gestures, racial or ethnic remarks, destruction of campus property and/or the property of others, possession of/under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, misuse of emergency exits, not abiding by rules and regulations, or refusal to leave when directed to do so by the staff. Expulsion results in a forfeit of registration fees, and no refund will be issued. Camp Staff • Attend a mandatory instructor orientation • Maintain a safe classroom 2
Pick-Up and Drop-Off Pick-up and drop-off times are extremely important to ensure that all camps run on time. The camp will begin and end promptly at the designated times. Please make sure you know the camp location. For your camper's safety, parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to drop their child off 10 minutes before the camp's start time. Pick-ups should occur no more than 10 minutes after camp has ended. After a one-time warning, students may be dismissed from the camp permanently. Sports Camps Volleyball Camp The Five-Day All-Skills Camp will focus on all aspects of the game with a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of volleyball. Skill development is emphasized during hours of on-court instruction in the following areas: serving, serve receiving, forearm passing, setting, attacking, blocking, transition & competition. Technique refinement and exposure to tactical aspects of the game will also be covered. Please register for your proper age group. Discount is available for second child registration. Basketball Camp This camp is designed to improve your skills through individual instruction and game competition. Emphasis will be placed on shooting techniques, fundamentals, and team- building. Girls and boys will learn how to play the game under the instruction of the Lee College basketball coach and players. Course fee includes camp basketball, camp photo, and t-shirt. Students will learn a variety of hair braiding techniques such as Dutch braids, French braids, fishtail braids, and cornrows. Students will also get to create a braid updo hairstyle. This camp will give students another prospective of their own unexplained experiences. Ghosts and other supernatural phenomena are widely represented throughout modern culture. They can be found in any number of entertainments, commercial, and other contexts, but popular media or commodified representations of ghosts can be quite different from the beliefs people hold about them, based on tradition or direct experience. They will learn about equipment used in the paranormal, have hands-on experience with the equipment, communicate and collaborate with storytelling, legends, and lore as well as meet TV ghost hunters Barry and Brad Klinge of Ghost Lab via Zoom. Arts and Crafts Camps Clay Creations and More Nothing's more fun than working with clay! Join us to learn the basics of throwing on the wheel and hand-building techniques such as pinch pots, coil, and slab. In addition to creating a variety of ceramic pieces, students will explore drawing and painting and will be introduced to a variety of media including charcoal, tempera paint, oil pastels, and watercolor. It focuses on the energy industry and career opportunities in the field. Energy Venture blends fun and education to introduce students to the region's ever-changing energy industry. Campers perform hands-on lab experiments, participate in team-building activities, win prizes for team efforts, learn about cutting-edge technology while touring facilities, and get first-hand accounts from guest speakers who work in the field. Participants must be 12 years of age on or before the first day of camp and provide proof of eligibility: Texas School ID, Current School Report Card, or Progress Report at the time of registration (can be uploaded with online registration). The scientists will perform a variety of fun and interactive experiments throughout the week. Campers will learn how to make green acid slime, a volcano eruption, crystallize their own rock candy, create a lava lamp, learn about melting points with chocolate bars, and even make their own ice cream. The last day of camp will be a super fun day where the scientists will get to participate in a super soaker water tournament. No longer just a hobby, eSports is the fastest growing career for the next generation. More than 400 million people watched YouTube videos and Twitch streams of video game competitions this year alone! In this course, students will develop competitive game-play skills in Black Rocket's new eSports App, learn how to produce commentary for live tournaments, use professional streaming software, and most importantly practice online safety.
