Paseo Santa Fe Paseo Santa Fe, encompasses the S. Santa Fe Avenue corridor between Vista Village Drive and Civic Center Drive. The City's vision is to fill the area with retail/shops/restaurants topped with living spaces to revitalize the downtown area. Construction is taking place in three phases with an estimated cost to the City of $30 million. The City also received $10 million in grants for the Paseo Santa Fe Street Project.
Paseo Santa Fe Road Construction Project The streetscape improvements included the complete makeover of this segment of S. Santa Fe Avenue, including below ground improvements such as new water, sewer, and storm drain lines between Main Street and Ocean View Drive. The visible improvements included placing overhead utility lines underground, narrowing the road from four lanes to two lanes, constructing new sidewalks; installing streetlights and street furnishings; installing a gateway arch sign; and constructing Vista's first roundabout at Eucalyptus Avenue Estimated date of completion: Phase I – April 2019 Phase II – Late Spring 2020 Phase III – November 2020

Economic Development Strategic Plan The City of Vista is undertaking a new Economic Development Strategic Planning effort.
AVO PLAYHOUSE The City has entered into an Exclusive Negotiation Agreement (ENA) with JCG Developers with the possibility of converting the AVO Playhouse into a music and live entertainment venue. This project will potentially create a regional attraction that will further enhance the vitality of the Historic Downtown.
Pala Vista Park The goal of this project is to develop the space into a small community park to meet the recreational needs of the community and to provide a welcoming entryway into the city. The City has partnered with ASR Landscape Architecture to design the new park site.
