Welcome to Rural Arts’ What’s inside? Summer/Autumn 2019 p4-9 programme Workshops for Adults p10-11 Hello! Activities for Children and Families p12-13 Performances I’m so thrilled to be sharing with you our June - December 2019 brochure, with a new look, new events and a new Director - me! p14 We’re stepping into summer with over 200 events here at The Courthouse. As well as our usual workshops, performances and National Theatre Live exhibitions, look out for our expanded events selection (p.16-17) with p15 wine-pairing, gin tasting, a Filipino Food Feast and a podcast festival Exhibitions all set to bring the best of the rest to Thirsk. Events Rural Arts is a charity – so every workshop you book onto, performance p19 you come to, or cup of coffee you sip in the café goes towards making Venue Hire over 400 events a year possible. It also funds community projects like Heart and Craft (p.8), which provides free arts activities to older people, and over 80 professional performances a year in village halls across the county. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Rural Arts, and want to thank Founder-Director Angela Hall for her dedication, tenacity and vision for the last 27 years. Here’s to the next 27!
