A Note from our President Greetings to the members of the Pacific Northwest Camaro Club. The 2021 All Camaro Show was a success! Thanks to all the participants and volunteers that made it possible. The show managed to draw 78 Camaros of all generations on beautiful sunshiny day. Yes, we were down from our usual car count, we attribute that to only about six weeks of planning due to Covid-19 and the Governor reopening of the state at the end of June. Also due to the US/Canadian border being closed to tourist traffic as well. Good News is we are already hearing from our Canadian friends that they are looking forward to coming down in 2022 in force! Already the PNWCC Officers met Tuesday after the ACS and discussed lessons learned, we found we really need more volunteers to help set-up and run the car show. So, if you like what you saw and had a good time at the ACS, please consider volunteering for the show or even better yet consider becoming an officer in the club! Elections will be in November. One of my goals is to bring more members into the club, if you have an idea on how we can do that, write/email ( president@pnwcc.com ) me with your suggestions. I will be around this Summer at various car shows and cruises and track events, so if you see me, come by, and share your ideas. Thank you. The 2022 Chevy Camaro With New Vivid Orange Paint General Motors has shared the first image of the 2022 Chevy Camaro finished in the vibrant new Vivid Orange Metallic exterior paint color. The new Vivid Orange Metallic paint color (RPO code GCF) is set to replace the current orange hue on the Camaro’s color pallette, Crush. The Crush orange color is a gloss paint, whereas Vivid Orange has a shinier metallic finish and also appears slightly darker. Chevy has not said how much Vivid Orange Metallic will cost to order, but the Orange hue that it replaces carried a $395 price premium. Vivid Orange Metallic is one of two new exterior colors offered on the 2022 Chevy Camaro – the other being Rapid Blue, which replaces the eyepopping yellow-ish green Shock color. Chevy provided us with a sneak preview of the Chevy Camaro in Rapid Blue at the NASCAR season-opener in Daytona back in February, where a Rapid Blue Camaro served as the official pace car. GM has planned numerous changes and updates for the 2022 Chevy Camaro. The sports coupe will lose one wheel option, will do away with the Kalahari beige interior color and the 1LE performance track pack will no longer be available on LT trim level models. A new Design Package 3 option will give customers a new personalization option, however, bundling together various exterior accessories including satin black hood stripes, a black fuel filler cap and Camaro-branded wheel center caps. Chevy will also offer a new copper-free performance brake pad for the eco-friendly states of Washington and California. The start of production for the 2022 Chevy Camaro was previously pushed back from June 14 to September 20 . The delay is likely related to the recent production line stoppage at th th the GM Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan where the Camaro is produced, which was caused by a shortage of semiconductor chips. Dale Hubbard passed away on June 21st peacefully at home in his favorite chair. The Pacific Northwest Camaro Club would like to offer our condolences to the Hubbard Family. Dale attended meetings and Car shows with his 1969 Convertible. He was registered to attend our 2021 All Camaro Show. Although I didn’t know Dale very well, he was always nice to me. We will miss Dale at meetings and club events, and I am sure Dale will be missed by his family and many friends as well. Rest in Peace Dale. 2021 All Camaro Show After a long year and a half hiatus from car shows, Triple XXX Drive In was the setting for the long awaited return of our show on July 18th. We only got confirmation that we would have use of the entire parking area on July 1st but plans for doing the show started in June. With about 6 weeks of planning, the day went very well. We had 78 cars in attendance, keep in mind our Canadian friends were not able to join us, we missed you, because of the borders being closed between our two countries, and just the short timeframe of getting the word out that we were having the show may have been the cause for the lower numbers. Those that did make it had a wonderful 80 degree Sunny day to enjoy all the Camaros on hand. I hope a great time was had by all who attended, we are already starting to make plans for the 2022 All Camaro Show. THANK YOU to all who attended.
