WHO NEEDS TO RELOCATE AND WHEN?

WHAT ENSURES RESIDENTS THE RIGHT TO
RETURN?
DCHA passed Resolution 16-06 which affirms that current and former Park Morton residents
who lived at the property on or after November 2014 and are lease compliant, have the right to
return.
 Residents are eligible to return as long as they are lease compliant and/or have not been
  evicted from DCHA housing
 There will not be minimum work or service requirements more stringent than DCHA’s policy
 There will not be criminal background requirements more stringent than DCHA’s policy
 There will not be credit or drug screening requirements more stringent than DCHA’s policy

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF BRUCE MONROE?

• The Bruce Monroe development plan received an approved Zoning Order for the
  proposed development in April 2017.
• In May 2017, the City’s Zoning Order was challenged in court.
• In June 2020, the DC Court of Appeals, reversed the decision of the Zoning Commission
  and sent it back to the Zoning Commission to reconsider and clarify specific items in the
  zoning order.
• We are awaiting the Zoning Commission’s response and amend order to address the
  Court’s concerns.
