Construction update North Melbourne November 2020 Major construction of the Metro Tunnel is continuing at and around the Arden Station site. This update provides an outline of current and upcoming works in your area throughout November. Construction snapshot When are we working? Work at and around the Arden Station site during November involves: Normal construction hours — Tunnelling support 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday — Station box construction, including concreting of 7am to 1pm, Saturdays. the station’s internal walls and roof, and removal of struts Out of hours — Cross passage construction Some works are required to — North Melbourne electrical substation take place out of normal construction construction hours. — Utility investigations on Arden, Laurens, Barwise and Queensberry streets — Slurry treatment plant, water treatment plant 24 hours and concrete batching plant operation 24 hour works are sometimes — Out of hours oversize deliveries to and from site required during peak construction activities. — Surveying, and sampling and testing of groundwater and soil — Transporting concrete from the concrete batching plant to other Metro Tunnel Project construction sites.
