A New Seed Library: It works similar to the Little Library, kids can drop off and take seeds to plant at home. Something simple and fun to do with your family. This was a girl scout gold award project completed by Angelina Fullone and her family. Thank you for this great idea and addition to the playground! Notice of Webster School Tax Collection The Tax Roll and Warrant for receiving taxes for Central School District No. 1 of Webster, Monroe County, and Ontario and Walworth, Wayne County, has been received by the undersigned, as Receiver of Taxes for the Webster Central School District in the Town of Webster, acting as agent for the Webster Central School District, and such taxes will be received at Webster Town Hall, 1000 Ridge Road, Webster, NY, beginning September 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. None received Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays. Mailed full or first installment payments should be made payable and addressed to Dorothy M. Maguire, Receiver of Taxes at the above address From September 1, through October 1, no interest is due if the total is paid in full. From October 2, through November 1, a 2% interest penalty must be added to the entire amount of the bill. Taxes paid under the INSTALLMENT option are due September 15, October 15 and November 15, 2021. The FIRST payment is made to Dorothy M. Maguire, Receiver of Taxes, 1000 Ridge Road, Webster, NY 14580. Payment TWO and THREE are made to the Monroe County Treasurer, PO Box 14420, Rochester, NY 14614. If you elect to use the installment option, there is a service charge on ALL three payments. With the exception of residents of Walworth and Ontario, taxes may be paid in installments. Further information about service and interest charges is printed on the bill. Taxpayers who pay by check (via the US Mail or by Drop Box) may consider their canceled check as proof of payment. The DROP BOX is located in the front vestibule of the Town Hall (open 24/7). Receipts will be issued for full payment if specifically requested and/or both pages are sent with payment. No tax payments will be received by the Webster Receiver of Taxes after November 1, 2021 at which time the School Tax Rolls will be returned to the Monroe County and Wayne County Tax Offices. If your taxes are held in escrow, and paid to us through your lending institution, you will receive a receipt from our office which will give you information regarding your taxes under the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights. Webster Public Library: Labor Day Weekend: The library will be closed on Saturday, September 4, and Monday, September 6 for the Labor Day weekend. New Fall Hours at the Library: As fall arrives the library will be extending the hours that it is open. Beginning Tuesday, September 7th the library will be open: Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Friday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 7
Upcoming Events: Pasta Dinner: Trinity Council # 4618 of the Knights of Columbus will be holding a Pasta Dinner Fundraiser to assist with the medical expenses of fellow Knight and Holy Trinity parishioner David Schaertel, who has been diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease. Saturday, September 11, 2021 Murphy Hall at Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Rd, Webster. Dinner will be served from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm (or until sold out) and includes Pasta and Sauce with Meatballs, Tossed Salad, Bread and Drink (coffee, tea or cold beverage). Join us as we recognize the service and sacrifice of the people who dedicate their lives to protecting ours. SEEKING VOLUNTEERS: We are seeking road marshals predominantly for the First Responders 5K on Friday, Sept 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at Webster Fireman’s Field. We are looking for 35 volunteers. Can you help? Webster Volunteer Fire Department It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Webster Volunteer Fire Department Past Chief Robert R. Duthoy, Sr. An Air Force Veteran and retiree of Webster Highway Department, Robert was a 71-year member of Webster Volunteer Fire Department, where he was known to all as “Uncle Bob”. Obituary of Robert R. Duthoy, Sr. Webster: Wednesday, August 25, 2021, age 89. Predeceased by his wife, Hazel. He leaves his children, Darlene (Kenneth) Schreiner, Bonnie Servis Shadders, Robert (Toni) Duthoy, Jr.; grandchildren, Amy (Elio) Realbuto, Kenny (Sarah) Schreiner, Ryan, John, and Eric Shadders, Heidi (JG) O’Connor, Aaron (Kyla) Duthoy; 11 great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Vendel, Dorothy Sager; several nieces and nephews; beloved friend, Kobi. A special thanks to Dad’s hospice aide, Maureen. Friends may call 4-8 PM Monday, August 30, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where his Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 31. Interment at Webster Rural Cemetery.
