We mare open Monday through Friday. 8 am to 5 pm and on Saturday, 8 am to noon. “Come on down” Regards, Charley Pidacks.
Plow Day in Litchfield, NH held on May 23rd, 2020 I had checked with Brian Matarozzo about this plow day as it was not held last year due to the field being too wet and in bad shape. I was not sure if it would happen or not. Brian and I settled on a date and then we waited to see if we could hold the event. Finally, it was decided that we could have the event due to the nature of plowing. Being out in the field, social distancing was feasible and the rest of the time we could just stand further apart than normal. This event is attended by the East Coast Antique Tractor club as well as Chapter #18, so there were 10-12 tractors there as well as 3 horse teams and a mule team. The largest plow there was a 4 bottom so there was plenty of plowing for everyone. I plowed until 6:00pm so I got my fill. There are three fields in Litchfield and we did not get all of them done, but we came close. Due to the pandemic we could not provide lunch as has been done in past years, but no one seemed to mind. It was a good day for all. I love the way my 200 runs after it has been worked. It seems to just purr after a few hours of hard work. Here is my 200 during a break in the action. Someday, I will get it painted. It was good to see John & Dave Eklund, Will and Sue Anderson, Charlie and Kenny Zaher as well as some members of East Coast. There is even a video that was posted to Facebook. All in all, it was a good day.

President’s Message Everything planned this year for Chapter #18 has changed since my last message. I wrote in that message that the membership meeting was to be our kickoff to the 2020 season. As you know, due to the pandemic, the meeting had to be postponed. It has been a very different year for all of us. As you most likely know, most of the shows we had planned to attend this year have been cancelled. This has put me in an uncertain place; not knowing quite what to do. I keep having a desire to get out and do something, but I just don’t know what or where to go. Our own Power of the Red show has also been cancelled due to the field not being available. It is just as well as we would not be able to do things as we normally do. I also wonder what the attendance might be; most likely less than normal. The Plow Day in Litchfield, NH did happen as planned. I thought long and hard about cancelling the event, but in the end decided that the attendees could “social distance” out in the field. It turned out to be a good day. The weather was warm enough to be enjoyable and it did not rain. When I arrived and was unloading my tractor, a local resident walked up to me and said that he was happy that the plow day was happening. He added that he had missed the event last year (it had been cancelled because the field was too wet), but as soon as he saw the porta potty out in the field, he knew that it was happening this year! As I thought about what he said, it occurred to me that while we as participants enjoy chapter events, the spectators also enjoy them. Just something to remember. To me, we provide a service! After all the doom and gloom, I want to share with the members what the plan is for 2020. We will hold this year’s raffle Cub and pedal tractor over until 2021. We have reduced expenses and have sufficient cash reserves to be able to survive until next year. It is our hope that we can have our annual banquet in October but we will have to see how it goes. Remember that your membership expires on June 1st. Renewal cards have been sent out and we ask that you send your dues in to Donna as soon as possible. I hope all of the members of Chapter #18 are doing well and are safe. See you sometime along the way! Mark
