Giving Tuesday Exceeds Goal! The Scottish Rite Giving Tuesday telethon, held on December 3, 2019, exceeded the goal of $332,000.00 by nearly 30%, bringing in $420,584.00. Director of Charities Michael Russell was host, and through interviews, videos, and testimonials the work of different Scottish Rite charities, including the Grand Almoner’s Fund, Scottish Rite Masonic Museum and Library, Abbott Scholarships, and Children’s Dyslexia Centers was explained for the audience. First Lady Monica Glattly spoke about the ‘White Flower Society’, our newest charity, created to assist Masonic widows. The work of the Scottish Rite charities continues throughout the year. Please support this worthwhile cause as we ‘strive to be a fraternity that fulfills our Masonic obligation to care for our members.’ To those who donated, to those who followed along with our 33 Days campaign, and to those who continue to embody the values of Freemasonry in their daily lives, we thank you all. ROAD TRIPS WITH RODNEY Adams County Scottish Rite Club – February 29, 2019 The year 2020 is Leap Year, which brings events for your enjoyment such as the Summer Olympics. It also gives you an extra day, and you can put that day to good use by attending the Adams County Scottish Rite Club event on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Returning to a previous venue, we will be at the Cherry Fork Community Center, 18415 St. Rt. 136, Cherry Fork, Ohio, 45618. VALLEY OF CINCINNATI Coffee, doughnuts, and registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. The new 4°, ‘Builder’, will be presented at 10:00 a.m. The 19°, ‘Brothers of the Trail’, will then be exemplified, with lunch to follow. The 19th degree expresses the Scottish Rite core values of Reverence for God and Integrity. You decide how these concepts of God and integrity are important not only in this drama, but also in your life. Spring Degree Day at the Cincinnati Masonic Center April 18, 2020 We all know that change is inevitable, and there has been a change in the format for the degree day on April 18, 2020. Instead of a full reunion this date will feature four degrees, 4°, 15°, and 18° live, as well as the new 17° video. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. with coffee, doughnuts, and registration, the degree conferrals will start with the 4°, ‘Builder’, at 8:30 a.m. The 15°, ‘Knight of the East’, then takes the stage. This degree teaches loyalty to conviction, fidelity to duty, and devotion to truth. Next will be the new 17° video. This degree, ‘Knight of the East and West’, teaches that we must seek truth in our path through life, and that we should avoid repeating the errors of the past. This video was directed by our Active, Ill. M. Todd McIntosh, 33°, and you are sure to be impressed by the acting, staging, and costumes. The degree presentations conclude with the 18°, ‘Knight of the Rose Croix of H.R.D.M.’ This degree teaches that the new Temple is in the heart of man and affirms the broad principles of universality and tolerance. Lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the degree portrayals. Plan on spending a Saturday morning with your brothers in our beautiful Cincinnati Masonic Center auditorium – share in the brotherhood and fellowship that comes from working together for a common goal, that of bringing to our members and candidates the finest Scottish Rite experience possible.
