IDEAS TO LIFE CONFERENCE 2018 Innovations for Healthy Living A commercialisation event co-hosted by the University of Auckland Innovation Institute China, HEDA, Kea, Zino Ventures and the North Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence (CAPE). HANGZHOU 1 & 2 NOVEMBER 2018
In December 2017 we held the inaugural Ideas to Life conference at the University of Auckland Innovation Institute China (UOAIIC) in Hanghzou. The commercialisation event on Day 1 was oversubscribed by at least 50%, and validated the strong desire from various Chinese stakeholder groups to engage in a commercialisation forum. Based on this experience, and on the current mix of research capabilities and technology assets in our portfolio, combined with a strong desire from high tech start-up companies from the wider New Zealand ecosystem, we believe our 2018 commercialisation event will: 1 Increase visibility and credibility of hosts and sponsors to relevant key players in‑market. 2 Enable greater recognition of New Zealand’s collective innovative capabilities with clear examples of translation to industry application. 3 Serve as a platform to engage key opinion leaders in the Chinese innovation sector including government agencies, tech companies, venture capitalists and investor groups. 4 Demonstrate to NZ stakeholders, particularly government and industry, that the UOAIIC presents a ‘safe’ pathway in the Chinese market.
