What is the process? 1. Each student is registered under Applied Scholastics Online Academy. This will be the accreditation body and your child’s school. They create a personalized education program for your child. They are based abroad, in California. 2. TLC will be the learning centre that your child will attend. We will assist in delivering the program daily, from Monday to Friday 9am-1pm. 3. Register your child with the Department of Education under a Home schooler. 3
Let’s get started: 1. Parent interview: Parents are required to come for a one-on-one interview to go over the process of how APS Online Academy and TLC Learning Centre operate. 2. Trial period: TLC will not accept any student without first having a trial period. This is usually a week trial, but can be shorter or longer, depending on the outcome daily. 3. Acceptance: After acceptance into TLC, we will assist you with the registration process with both TLC and Applied Scholastics. 4. Assessments: After the registration process, TLC will do educational assessments with your child. From these assessments, the program writers at Applied Scholastics Online Academy, will compile an annual personalized education program for your child. 5. Books: Once the program is received, TLC will help you to handle the book order and get your child started on an incredible journey. 4

Why and when Us? When regular schooling is not working for a child, we encourage parents to take their child’s education into their own hands. This is where the Applied Scholastics Online Education Programs come in. If your child is disinterested or unhappy about school, hates certain subjects and the bright- eyed-wonder of learning is no longer there, something must be done! We provide an education that is very different from your mainstream schooling. 7
What makes us different? • We offer In-Centre facilitated Tutoring on individualised education programs. • We fall directly under Applied Scholastics Online Academy, and Applied Scholastics International as a tutoring group, implementing the student’s personalized education program. • Your Child gets a personalized education program from Applied Scholastics Online Academy that is tailor made for him/her. • This program is designed in accordance with your child’s interests and strengths. As your child moves along onto the next and the next program, it can change as their interests change. • It is designed to help them achieve their life goals and purposes in and after school. • It is so well designed and planned out that by the time your child is ready to enter the world, he/she will not only be very knowledgeable, but will have the certainty and confidence to make a success with his/her life. • At our Learning Centre our tutors help the students work through their individually tailored homeschool programs. With one on one Learning we make sure that great care and standard Study Technology gets applied fully. • We encourage play and research in many ways, and this in return creates amazing children with incredible awareness to many things in their environment. 8
The children don’t do tests and we don’t send home any homework. Yes. No Homework! How do we know students know what they have learned? We don’t move on to the next step until full understanding has been attained. Once the child has full understanding we move on to the next. This allows the child to work on their own pace and they don’t miss anything important. A very important part of what we do is to help children with problem solving and understanding in life. If they are able to apply what they have learned, we have done our part. After all, is that not the whole point of education. Application of knowledge attained. 9
The history of Applied Scholastics International Students are not taught how to learn in school - they’re just told to learn! They are expected to learn their basics and their subjects but are never taught what learning is, what barriers they might run into and how to overcome such barriers. The first Applied Scholastics organisation was formed in 1972 by educators from colleges, universities, and both public and private schools. Currently, the Applied Scholastics’ network is composed of more than 614 schools, centres, community programs and tutors who now operate in 64 countries over 6 continents around the world. Over 80 thousand educators, including teachers, business trainers, parents and tutors have been trained in Study Technology. To date over 19 million people from all walks of life have taken a course on Study Technology with Applied Scholastics. 10
What is Study Technology? Study Technology: The word study means the route to grasping new ideas and mastering abilities. The word technology means a scientifically based body of data that when applied precisely gets exact and predictable results. Study Technology teaches a person HOW to learn. This Technology is a proven method of learning which identifies three primary barriers to study and provides the remedy for each barrier. It can be used by anyone in any area of learning. This method is not just for students having difficulty, but rather, an essential learning tool for any individual and will enhance their ability to study. The result is an individual who can absorb information with full comprehension and will gain the ability to apply the material learned. 11
Study Technology consists of tools and techniques teachers, or Tutors in Learning Centers can use to improve the learning rates of their students. It can be used by students to improve their ability to understand and use the materials they read and study. It is not a collection of study tips or memory tricks, but rather a system of learning how to learn. Using Study Technology brings about an understanding that results in the ability to apply what one learns at school, in one’s work and in life. Study Technology is not a study aid memorization technique, speed reading or rote learning and is not complicated or hard to learn. It is applauded because of its simplicity and effectiveness. It is the spearhead to a bright new world of understanding and achievement, and it forms the basis of the success of all Applied Scholastics educational programs. Study Technology is not complicated or hard to learn. Hundreds of thousands of people in schools and communities around the world are using this brand- new approach to learning. 12
