The aim is to make the day fun and to encourage great sportsmanship and participation. We are on the lookout for some additional helpers on the day, so if you are at the club with your Nippers, please feel free to see Craig and ask where you might be able to help. There is no pressure at all to take part, and the carnival is designed to encourage Nippers to showcase the skills they have learnt throughout the season. For those Nippers with a competitive streak, points are tallied for all placings in each event and the best results over the carnival will be recognised at the club’s presentation night. ancoora B Celebrates International Cara Women’s Day Edwards 10 March 2021 During the month of March, the Committee celebrated the great women of Bancoora on our social media channels as part of International Women’s Day. Cara, whilst balancing numerous other commitments including full-time university and part-time work, still manages to find time to give back to Bancoora as Club Captain and a trainer to our members. Kaaren has co-ordinated the BBQ for at least the last three years and is a true example of the volunteer spirit that makes Dora our club so great. Kaaren is ever-reliable and always brings her best efforts to support the club. Dos Santos 13 March 2021 Lisa Dora has been involved at Bancoora since the late 1990s as a national level IRB competitor, patrol member, coach Happ and trainer. Dora is a kind and professional member who is 16 March 2021 always striving to bring out the best in our membership by drawing on her 30-plus years of surf lifesaving experience. Bancoora is so fortunate to have added passionate surf lifesaving expert Lisa to our membership in recent years. Lisa has many years of elite level competition and coaching and Wendy has been so helpful to Bancoora since she has joined, by so freely giving her time and expertise to develop our lifesaving Reyntjes teams. Thomas Lindsay and James Bolden set out from Warrnambool in a small open boat on 10 June 1878 called the Goldhunter bound for the Loch Ard. A gale sprang up (editor’s note – Our Ripper Nipper for March, Cate McNeil, enjoying a cooler day at no surprise on the ‘Shipwreck Coast’) and Lindsay and Banny on Patrol.
