   • A variation of the Scrum law will apply when a 2018 Premier and 2018 Division 1 team play
each other - The three NZ DSLV scrum restrictions that will apply include:
o Maximum 1.5 metres push. A team in a scrum must not push the scrum more than
1.5 metres toward the opponents goal line – Sanction Free Kick
o Ball must be released from the scrum. A player must not intentionally keep the ball in
the scrum once the players team has heeled the ball and controls it at the base of the

Southland will inform the referee of the change
o Unless agreed to by both team captains and the match referee the decision option
