HAPPENINGS FEBRUARY 2021 Aimee Fifarek, Library Executive Director The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County joins people across our country in recognizing Black History Month 2021. Throughout February our regularly scheduled programs such as Virtual Story Time, Book Banter, Teen Reads Live, Literary Love Connection, Library Anywhere Podcast, and more will feature library resources that celebrate the National 2021 Theme of Black History Month. The theme of The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity can be seen in a wide variety of library resources and we hope that you will visit us in person or online to discover more about Black History Month for yourself. Listen to our February podcast where we’ll talk about the creation of the Black History month celebration, mention some notable black authors and television shows starring black families, and point to some resources that will DIAL-A-STORY HONORS help families talk about race.
