“Young talent development is my passion. Each day, I push my players
and coaches to be the best versions of themselves, to continue to grow
and become winners on and off the field. It all starts here. Success isn’t
a destination, it’s a mindset that I have the privilege to cultivate.”

Kickarounds and Tryouts
Kickarounds give the opportunity for new players to get to know our Club through our teams, coaches and
players. Kickarounds are held at the end of the SLYSA Spring Season. Dates and fields are set up by the Club
Director and information is sent via email. We encourage participation of our current players in these activities.
The time frame for Club Tryouts is determined by MissouriSoccer.org. Club Tryouts information will be sent
by the Real WC Nacho administration in timely manner. Open tryouts are designed to ensure every player has an
equal opportunity to demonstrate their skill, attitude and effort to possibly be invited to play at the select level. For
existing players, participation in tryouts is highly encouraged. Please let your Coach know if your player is unable
to participate in the tryouts. Player will be notified by the Coach if they are accepted or not into the team soon after
tryouts.

Highlights of our program

Keys To Successful Development
 Staying humble is the most important key ingredient to being a successful player in our program (and to
life outside of Soccer, for that matter). No one player is above any practices. No one practice is beneath any
player. No one player should consider herself as better (or worse) than any other players. Everyone is learning
   at her own pace.
 Making a mistake is okay, but be intelligent enough not to repeat it.
 Be creative and courageous, try new moves that confidence allow.
 Be excited about practices as much as about games. League and tournament games should be treated as
an extension to practices. Anything we learn at practices must be attempted during games.
 Compete at the highest level – with high intensity – at all times, whether at games or practices.
 Work hard and with quality.
    Have fun!!!

Team Guidelines Codes of Conduct
 Briefly greet each player’s family
    No smoking around players.
    No sideline coaching.
    No harassing the referees.
    Respect each other.
    Respect other parent’s children.
 Refrain from using negative comments toward own player.

Codes of Conduct
The guidelines are posted on our team website, please familiarize yourself with them.
 I would like to stress the importance of instructions being delivered from the coaching sideline only, and not
from the parent’s sideline. This will definitely help the coaches to send consistent messages to the players, and
   to avoid confusion.
 Please limit sideline cheering to positive encouragement and kudos. Any comments which can be perceived
as “negative” by the players can easily affect their confidence level. Please be your player’s biggest fan.
 See the attached Addendum to Codes of Conduct added in Spring 2017.

Bully-free Environment
Bullying is not tolerated at all in our program. The players are now at the age where parents and coaches will
need to pay extra/close attention to how our players are interacting with each other. Bullying can be in a form of
physical and/or verbal abuse. With easy access to electronics, bullying can also be delivered in a form of texting
and/or any social media posting (Facebook, Instagram, etc).

                                                   Real WC Nacho

                                                   (314) 662-3936
                                                                                                                     6
Players Development
From the age of U8 through U12, while playing in 9v9 games, our main focus will be technical training. We will
emphasize the use of proper techniques and fundamental soccer skills (fast footwork, ball possession, first touch,
ball distributions, etc.). We will teach our players to be comfortable handling the ball in tight spaces, comfortable to
take on opponents in 1-on-1 situations, and most importantly how to create and find space with or without the ball.
From U12 & Up, Tactical training will be more of the focus and will be provided in the form of small-sided
games. We will continue to teach them to play quick and to help them increase their decision making process. If
players can process information in tight space and make quick decisions then when expanding the field, the pres-
sure shouldn’t be that tight.
We will provide players with a lot of opportunities to consistently compete in an environment that fosters skill,
creativity, mobility, possession, and ultimately confidence.

Playing Time
Please note that in Select soccer, there is no such thing as equal playing time. Every player will be given the
minimum of 15 minutes of playing time per game. The rest will have to be earned. This approach will continue until
the players reach U14. Once they reach high school age (U14), every single minute of playing time will have to be
earned.
    The coaches, at their discretion, will be using five factors in determining playing time for a player;
 Player’s competitive drive, desire and hustle during game/practice/training
 Player’s contribution to her own development and desire to learn and improve
 Player’s contribution to team development
     Player’s performance
     Team expectations

Uniforms
It is important that all players wear the assigned uniform, and bring the alternate jersey to all games in case we
have to change due to color conflict. You will find that a team assigned as “home” wears the light uniform, while
an “away” team wears the darker uniform. Information about the uniform will be found at each game in TeamSnap.
Please notice that White Blue White means white jersey, blue shorts and white socks.
During the winter, if an undershirt is worn , it is recommended that the undergarment sleeve is the same color
as the jersey sleeve. The same rule applies to undergarments worn under shorts.
For practice, there is a red and a blue jerseys that can be used as assigned by the Coach/Manager in
TeamSnap. Black shorts and black socks complete the practice uniform.
Our team’s uniforms are renewed every two years, but items can be purchased as needed between this peri-
od. We use MyUniform for all uniform purchases. Your Coach/Manager will set up an account when the renewal is
due. If you need to purchase any garment between the renewal period, please contact your Coach/Manager.

                                                                                                                       7
Communications/Communities
The majority of communications will be handled via TeamSnap email or chat. Please download the app and
accept the invitation to join fro your coach or manager. Make sure that all email addresses and phone numbers are
up-to-date. It is important that each family has at least one phone number and more than one email address, and
make sure that the mailboxes are checked regularly. The team calendar will be handle through TeamSnap. Auto-
matic game reminders will be sent out two days prior to the game and practice day/time.
Rainout Line is used to communicate any delay or cancellation due to inclement weather. Please download the
app and check it before games and practices.

Dual Roster Players
Players can only double roster up to 2 divisions within an age group. We request that Dual Roster Players
practice at least once a week with each of their teams. Dual Roster Players are required to pay for the issuing of a
secondary team ID card.

Playing Multiple Sports
We are a big proponent to the idea of the players participating in multiple sports. By having them play in multi-
ple sports, study shows that it will help reduce sports injuries since different sports most likely will use different sets
of muscles. Additionally, by playing in multiple sports, the players will develop different sets of sports intelligence,
which will only help them with their soccer development. However, this is a competitive team and we ask that you
see soccer as your priority as the absence of a player affects the whole team.

Volunteering & Fundraising
Real WC Nacho families are required to contribute to the organization by volunteering in our August or March
tournament, or at our winter futsal or indoor soccer. In general the volunteer slots are for a total of 4 hours. We
require that at the beginning of the Fall Season, families submit a $200 check dated August 30st, if you select to
volunteer on the Fall tournament, November 30th if you select o volunteer in the winter activities, March 30th if you
select to volunteer in th Spring Tournament. Volunteer activities include setting or clean-up before and after the
tournament, runners, field marshall, among others). Checks will be voided as soon as your volunteer time is com-
pleted.
Those parents serving as managers for a team are not required to submit a volunteer check, as they work a
large number of hours to help our teams thrive.
Last, in the Spring Real WC Nacho hosts a Trivia Night. Although not mandatory, this is a fun evening to spend
with the other parents in your team. We encourage that each team books at least two tables. In addition, we ask
that each team put together a themed basket for auction during the evening, regardless of team participation at the
event.

Team Specific Dues
Please make sure to pay all dues on or before the designated dates to ensure that we are not behind with our
bills and commitments. Please contact the designated Team Manager for any issues or concerns.

                                                                                                                         8
Thoughts and Notes
Please know that the coaching staff and Boys Director want to be approachable. We would much rather you
talk to us directly about any issues instead of you voice your issues/concerns to other parents on the sideline. We
only ask you that you wait 24 hours after a game to contact your coach.
Please trust that all our decisions, no matter how peculiar or appearing harsh at times, are for the team’s best
interest and with your players in mind. You may not agree with some, if not most of our decisions, but please
believe us that we are trying to do our best to get your player in the best position to succeed. Please do not com-
pare/contrast your player’s current skills/development progress with others. This is not healthy, and will only cause
unnecessary stress on you and your player. Any comments about other players may cause animosity from others.
Please focus your energy on words of encouragement to your player, and to the team as a whole.
Please allow our team to naturally develop. “Developing a team is similar to preparing for a marathon run. It is a
painstakingly slow process, and requires a lot of patience.” Other teams can win a lot of games at this age level by
taking short cuts. A great example of this is that you will find coaches who instruct their players to pass only to the
fastest and strongest players so they can score a lot of goals. While this will get those coaches a lot of wins, it will
not help the players to develop properly and most importantly, that is not what this program is all about.
Finally, we would like to thank you in advance for allowing us to hopefully give positive life experiences to your
players. “Our mission, through the teaching of the game of soccer, is to mentor these young players and provide
tools and learning experiences that will help them develop into strong, confident adults.”

My Soccer Goals

As part of your soccer training in Real WC Nacho, we ask you to self-evaluate and establish your set of goals at
the beginning of the season. You will meet with your coach to go over this. Then, you will be asked to take action to
accomplish them during the season. At the end of the season, you will meet with your coach to discuss your prog-
ress and compare your coach evaluation with yours.

Directions
   1. Complete the self-evaluation by the deadline
   2. Meet with your coach to discuss your goals and how you propose to take action. At this point your coach
might discuss additional goals or hierarchy in the plan of action.
   3. Return to your self-evaluation once a month to check progress
